    nEar 04 speakers

depends on wat u like...bass heads will say always say monitor speakers will not have enuff bass...to me, these speakers are a joy to listen to xllms
  2. Depending on what you want. If you choose longer cable, more ex la. Should be under $20 for a short IC. I got mine done at LHS, SLT. LHS, in sim lim tower which level? and %#!@#*&...so fast everywhere short ICs are sold out!!!...even aron also no more now xllms
  3. get a good set of earphones first...the change in performance of a set of earphones at tat budget is going get more mileage and results as compared to an amp xllms
  4. probably that was his conclusion. yup...my description was on the superfi.5pro...it really depends the main usage of the earphones n the music u play...personally if i am spending tat amount n listen to alot of vocals, then i think shure e4c is better bet... the strength of superfi.5pro lies in its versatility...it can sound gd in most music, but still lacks something somehow...its like a jack-of-all-trades, master of none characteristics... for general usage on the go, this superfi.5pro indeed sound really gd...but i am not too sure how it performs in terms of comfort and sound isolation, when u r moving all the time...for such considerations, i still like westone best... xllms
  5. went to jaben tis afternoon n uncle wilson told me some bugger cleared all his stocks on cardas last nite...
  6. haha... i went to stereo and tested the interconnet there today... dey really make a huge diff to sound.. the stock one cmi.. no detail as compare... i noticed SE sells klotz & Belden cables w canares plugs...do u know how does belden sound? and also, how they compare to cardas @ Jaben? i wanna have a lushier and fuller bodied sound xllms
  7. yo, when u talk abt improve sound, wat do u mean when the LDM+ uses soviet 4n1n tubes?...i would prefer my LDM+ to sound abit lushier instead of the forward sounding characteristic now...does it achieve that? xllms
  8. it is clearer but less authoritative...less live-like...abit more analytical personally i will go for tis than UM2 hear it out ursef to know better xllms
  9. i have both HJE50 & UM1...HJE50 has more impact on its bass, but UM1 is tighter...trebles on HJE50 is more upfront but harsh n the UM1's treble is abit recessed...the mids thumps the HJE50, with its smooth delivery and more live-like performance, it makes HJE50 sounds dull and un-involving, esp on the vocals...when i switched from UM1 back to HJE50 for a week, i hated the HJE50 to be honest xllms trying to downgrade huh? haha... i cant find a gd reason for me to use all my canal fones... hee... not downgrade la...gave my um1 to my gf to use, hence only left w hje50 while waiting for my er4p...now tat i have er4p, i still prefers the um1 while am on the go...less microphonics, more involving sound, more comfort, tho less details across the spectrum except the mids...was so tempted to buy a second-hand um1 while waiting for my er4p...guess i will now swap the um1 w the er4p w my gf
  10. i have both HJE50 & UM1...HJE50 has more impact on its bass, but UM1 is tighter...trebles on HJE50 is more upfront but harsh n the UM1's treble is abit recessed...the mids thumps the HJE50, with its smooth delivery and more live-like performance, it makes HJE50 sounds dull and un-involving, esp on the vocals...when i switched from UM1 back to HJE50 for a week, i hated the HJE50 to be honest xllms
  11. haha yeah. my friends all thought my new UM1s looked riduculous especially for the orange foam tips. oh well... i'm not the one missing out... for sleekness, use shure clear tips (slightly harder than the grey ones)... for sound performance, use the orange foams or the shure grey tips...u can also use the shure tri-flanges and mod it into a bi-flange...also can use the ety tri-flanges most will not hear much difference unless they are audio enthusiasts or w trained ears...when i got my ety er4p, my sis-in-law can't tell the much difference in performance b/w panny HJE50 & ER4p...my bro then told her how much difference they are my colleagues even jokingly asked if i have hearing problems when i first used UM1 xllms
  12. yeah i listen to music FREQUENTLY, just about every time i step outa the house and that's why comfort is a big deal to me, but the price of comfort, could be the fact that i get run over by a car when walking down the street <_______< and thx everyone but see, because of the non-removable wire on the e4's/all of shure's models, i stepped down from buying the e4's..... sure the build quality, looks, and wires may be all sturdier and better then the SF5's, but the fact doesn't change that I would eventually ruin the plug =/... So all because of that 1 little cord problem that i have with basically all my earphones (i ruined a pair of e3's in less then 2 months because of that ), i can't choose between the 2 this is what makes it so hard lol although i could use my short little extention cord, im still not sure how long the E4's wires are =/ the SF5's are about 46" if im not mistaken and that should be fine hey pal...i can't comment much on e4 cos i have yet to try them...they certainly look sturdy enough but not in the same league as etymotic & westone... if u like comfort, to me, westone offers the best comfort (um1 n um2)...they fit nicely into your ears n do not protrude out much...the best thing is tat when u move, they hardly lose the tight and comfortable fit for good isolation (depends on the flanges/tips u use) with regards to the sound, Superfi.5pro has abit of everything and sound pretty gd...generally i prefer this to UM2 cos it is clearer n has sufficient performance in the entire spectrum tho it lacks warmth and commanding qualities of UM2 hey, wat player r u using?...cos afterall u r pairing ur earphones w ur player to get the sound quality if ur player has a neutral sound w gd EQ, i would advise u get the e4 cos the sonic quality is already there, all u need to use EQ to get the desire boost required in the required spectrum Superfi5pro is already leaning heavier on the bass aspect, not as neutral as e4 if u have a chance, do try out etymotic er4...really fantastic earphones xllms
  13. AL cost me $150 after shipping... very cheap... and it better sound than Er6i and UM1... oh, $150? hmm quite decent for the price but havnt got to audition it yet..seems that jaben dun hav that one.. anyway some say that after using e4c, UM1 wont be any good..so i'm nt sure wat to get now but most likely maybe UM2..might be getting one by end of the month.. UM1 & e4c r of different class la...e4c is definitely a better earphone...u should compare e4c w ety er4 for $150 n sound better than UM1 n er6i, sounds good ...gd to have one...actually, this is by etymotic as well, probably sound somehow similar to er6i and er4...theory, can meet up next time n try? xllms
  14. UM1 is a very good set of earphones...for single driver IEMs at its price, its very hard to beat...am using a ER4p n has tested UE Superfi.5pro...i still miss my UM1, which is now used by my gf tho Superfi.5pro & ER4p has more details n somehow, they lack the fun n musicality of UM1 xllms
  15. when did u buy and where did u get it from? xllms Moderator Edit: YGPM
  16. welcome to tis forum then......didnt know u r not local (SG)...since u dun have access to the earphones, perhaps u can let us know ur choice of music, ur music player and listening habits...then we can advise u better cheers! xllms
  17. go hear them out yourself you have to prioritise yourself on what are the important factors...have a feel on the actual things and speak to the people who are selling you the product and you will know better xllms
  18. are u selling the ER4p alone at $265? xllms
  19. Hi guys, am looking for a gd place to do my Interconnects for my Little Dot Micro+ and I only have Sundays to do so Does anyone know where I can get these them on a sunday? I'm using a self-made KLOTZ Twinax + Canare plugs...my soldering skills is not gd hence the final outcome leaves much to be desire...however i quite like the sound as it creates a LIVE! feel in the experience and mid-range becomes clearer, but trebles are too harsh/strong for my liking... can anyone recommend alternative that will also create a gd LIVE! feel in the sonic production but without the harshness in trebles and at the same time, having gd speed and firmness in its bass * earphones to be used with 1) Westone UM1 2) Etymotic ER4p 3) Panasonic HJE50 thanks xllms
  20. will... sf5 pro is dual driver.. it cost $379 at SE.. but um2 cost $499.. so it the cheaper alternative... but they do sound different? xllms frm words, it seems to be the soundstage diff more than soundstage is different...SF5pro is definitely cleaner sonically...abit less bass, abit less body and warmth, a bit more clarity, abit less LIVE! feel...personally, more groovy than UM2 i wont hesitate to buy SF5pro if it is build like the UM2 xllms
  21. choose westone for its 1) sound - very musical, soothing to the ears and pretty balanced...groovy, easy to enjoy the music 2) built - fantastic build quality, no worries abt wires being snapped 3) pdt design - most discreet earphones and most comfortable ones ...feels so natural in the ears...no discomfort 4) price - not the cheapest, but at its price, hard to beat i prefer the sound of UM1, some others may prefer the ER6i...but i think both sound pretty similar...for all other reasons, UM1 has a much better package than ER6i xllms
