  1. i demo-ed "the hornet" so well, i know some one has it. as for the sr-71 i've seen it too, just didn't try it out some one has it...... now who is it?
  2. very competitive with um1. haha
  3. hmmm well, im not too sure. i think they are around the range of the um1s? jaben or anyone confirm this?
  4. sure you can. i got my at jabens. but i'm sure SE or any other audio shop would have them! sls, funan.... most places have.
  5. hehe ended buying the u3 from merdeka audio at sls
  6. i got that feeling too... somehow i feel that a single driver is enough for now.... hahaha
  7. hey guys, i know UE has been around (available locally) for quite sometime but i just tested them out at Jaben's yesterday. Hah, wow and i must say I quite like how it sounds (don't like the 5 EB tho) impressions: super.fi 3 studio: sounds musical, i feel its more balanced than the UM1 which is more bass heavy. the 3 studios sound more balanced, just the right amount of bass and treble... the bass doesn't cover the treble which the um1 tends to do. oh and it doesn't really have the sub-woofer in your ear feeling which is quite uncomfortable at times. honestly i quite like the 3 studios. super.fi 5 EB: this one is like seriously for bass heads, its super bass heavy and i find the bass abit muddy. i think the bass covers alot of the detail of the music. i don't really like this one so i put it down after a brief try-out. for bass heads and people who like the thumping in the ears really BANG for your buck super.fi 5 pro: wah this one is really good, not a bass overkill like the UM2 and really pleasant to the ear. really full bodied sounds. the music really sounded great on this earphones. the dual drivers really give a clear, accurate, slightly warm sound to the music. (actually i'm not sure if the music sounded warm with the headphones as i was using a portable amp with it. so it could be the amp at work hehe oops) well, the trebles, mids and bass were all brought to life with this really musical iem. i would get them, if i could afford them by the way all the sets are all sold out so if anyone else is interested you'll have to wait. or get them at SE. well.... after using my um1s for quite sometime, i wanna get another iem like a er6/i or a 3 studio. and after testing the UEs i'm quite confused haha. guess i'll wait till i can afford either then decide. anyways i didn't really like how the UEs were constructed. they really stick out of the ear (frankenstein ears), as compared to my um1 which is really a nice snug fit that looks "stealth" but looks are just looks. most importantly is that they sound great. just my take on the UEs. cheers.
  8. checked that too... i've used cardas/canare and some crappy stock one. same results.
  9. hi guys, i've been using my iAudio U3 with UM1s and they're doing good. however, i'm planning to use some earphones/headphones which could use a "boost". hehehe. problem is, when i connect the portable headamps to my U3, it seems that the volume on my UM1s become softer even when i max out the headamp +player ! it is also the case when tested with someone elses UM2! i'm wondering what causes this? headamps tested: Xin, Meta42, PA2v2, "Crossroads". all have similar results of softer volume. is it because the player isn't using a lineout but a headphone out? can anyone with a U3 confirm this? or does anyone know why this happends? any help is well appreciated! cheers.
  10. welcome to sgheadphones! the grados sr-60, are entry level "high-end" headphones (consumer point of view, "lowest end" of the grado audiophile / fanatic). they are really good if you have been using earbuds / "consumer-ish" headphones, this whole time. however if you test the more expensive models, you can probably hear the difference. well, i'm not saying they aren't good... at the end of the day, it all amounts to how much your ears like them and also how much you want to spend on your headphones/earphones. just keep in mind that sometimes "what you pay is what you get" (not true for some cheap headphones such as the koss ksc75 / 35 i really think they are alot bang for buck.) the alessandro's are really good and i use the MS2s, they are really nice and pleasant sounding. the you might want to try out the MS1s as they do sound better than the SR-60, however they also cost more. keep in mind that audio stuff, opinions and comments on headphones / earphones are rather personal, your best bet is to test / try those you want before you buy. having said everything - trust only your ears and you'll enjoy the headphones for a long time to come. ----------------- location of some shops you wanna goto: Adelphi: located beside City Hall MRT. 11. how much for just the portable amp. i got the interconnect. seriously.
  12. interested in the black one but.... gotta wait till next month.
  13. chan_ryu: sadly to say its connected to my on-board sound card. the white cable isn't connected at all (i only connect it when i use my little dot 2+.) when i want better sound, i'll use my discman or just pop a cd into my notebook the thing u see on the pcmcia slot is my network card (the on-board wireless card is well... i suspect fried / cooked, too much bit torrent and high AMD temperatures) i know i know, i haven't got a good cd-deck to do the speakers justice yet but that shall be my next inclusion to the system heh. topgun: hmmm perhaps i shall add some rubber feet or something, thanks for the tip haha the table isnt as long as it looks angles of photography my friend.
  14. i have the 06s on my table. you can read my review on another thread but all i can say is that they sound really nice too
  15. you'd be surprised hmmm, head down to jabens, test out a couple of earphones and see if you can get a custom earmold along with it, like a package deal!
  16. heya guys here's my take on the nEar06 speakers but first lemme show you the setup.... hehe... alrightie lemme now comment on the sound (outta the box and not burnt in). CABLE: the 1/4 to mini cable that i received from wilson is properly grounded and does not have any hissing or strange sounds. SPEAKER: the sound reproduction is very accurate, it produces a very natural sound and does not colour the music. music doesn't distort at very high volume! bass, isn't strong and therefore does not muffle or cover the details of certain tracks. i like this speaker alot as it is produces clear crisp sound. it is excellent for vocal, classical / instrumental tracks. i just listened to a flac track (yue liang tai piao wo de xin - a cover by some chinese guitar dude) on it and it is simply AMAZING, you really have to demo the speakers with flac or CDs to give it justice. all my mp3s sounded sooooooooo different on the speakers but that might be because i'm used to a the budget creative 2.1 speakers + subwoofer blasting away haha, its really a whole new sound stage. i must add, if you like hip-hop / techno / house / trance (basically bassheads booming type of music) then this is not the speaker for you. this setup doesnt included a subwoofer which i feel is essential for the above mentioned genre (if not the hip-hop / techno / house will lack "body") however one must take note that, these are monitors and not similar to the creative "multimedia" speakers. okay so now we know it sounds great with music, i also tested it with movies! haha yes, divx (dvd-rip) movies on my computer. and i really think they work fine too the soundtrack came out perfect, the conversations and everything was really clear, i could hear the actors asthough they were infront of me! i felt kinda strange but yes, these speakers work fine with movies too i didn't test it on a action movie so i can't say if its good like with shooting and blasting and all but it sounds good so far next thing i tested these on were computer games! haha yes, i played Warcraft 3: TFT (DOTA) on them hahaa... amazing.... i could hear every chop, blast, cut, teleport.... wah i tell you... audiophile dota experience! (to be honest i also used my ms2 to play dota haha). to conclude, i'm simply blown away by the speakers (and i haven't burnt them in, so it can only get better!) yes, for the price these are seriously value for moneys and if any of you guys wanna get monitors or some seriously good audiophile equipment. demo these babies with your flacs or CDs and you'll see what i mean. but do keep in mind - to each his own. anyone who owns the nEar06s or heard them? any comments?
  17. well, haha well.... i guess i don't mind taking a look but honestly due to my recent purchases. i don't think i can afford it. (i even have to resort to pawning my items away haha the woes of the NS man)
  18. yes i have finally connected them up, and wow! hahaha even i cleared the mess on my desk to place the speakers and set them up(my mom got a shock when she saw me packing my stuff)! they sound great (well its a understatement but i can't think right now. too tired from carrying the box home haha), but i will write on how they sound tomorrow. (its 2.30am now i still have to goto camp at 6am. heee heee) iynaix: yea i wanted to get a iem and the speakers but i don't have the budget so i had to well.... set my priorities right. [Top-Gun]: yes i wanted the 05, but the thing is wilson offered me a "deal you cannot resist" so i got the 06s.... as for the portable amp that i wanted to get, i decided to pass on it as i have nothing much to amp except my discman so i think that can wait. maybe until i get a mp3 player with a true lineout, i just found out that the U3 and portable amps don't work (but i investigate on this on another thread) wah reeeally very tired now. i think the piccies have to wait till tonight.
  19. i just got them tonight, i will post a review with pictures as soon as i set them up
  20. steve: well i guess if you wanna sell something like that, you'll have to let us try it out... play around with it first and test the functions before we can make up our mind. i don't anyone will just fork out 400 and take a risk like that. i hope maybe you could help us out by letting us try it so we can review it for you. if its really good like you say, then we won't have problems finding buyers now ya?
  21. yea you should listen to all 3 first earmolds... well, they are custom fit to your ears! confirm fit and better isolation
  22. haha yea test them out first. i like the um1 too. but now after using them for a long time, i wanna give the etys a try again.
  23. oh the im716 are not available in singapore. you can only get them online on websites like www.amazon.com or ebay and ship them in using vpost
