Heh, I've always been pretty sensitive to such things but I guess its effects should wear off over time. So it wouldn't be fair to say that its a lousy pair just because it gives of one, but its my personal preference

Lol this is abit interesting, to be honest the treble boost will be very good, and i find the bass on the stock UM1s more than enough, however i plan to use it with my ipod nano unamped(don't like carrying so many things around lah). Any of you guys got a reccomendation for the mod?

EAC is a very good program. It tries as much as possible to get a bit for bit copy of the .wav before compressing it into the format of your choice.

Both are good in their own uses. If you need the sound isolation then go with the UM1, if not its definately the MS1s. The UM1 does sound a bit muffled, i agree...
