  1. FOr open, lightweight designs I prefer the ksc75 over the portapro, which I find is too dark for my tastes. Closed design I like my k81dj. Slightly less treble than the ksc75, but better bass and details. But the clamping pressure prevents me from using them for long periods of time.
  2. If thats the case, why not say e500 about the same price? You are comparing higher end stuff with lower end items, kinda unfair... But if really 200...
  3. Not earbuds...IEMs!! Who needs earbuds when we can have... isolation.
  4. Also gonna get an amp soon! I can't answer your other questions, but I do know that for a brighter sound, silver or silver-coated copper cables should do the trick. Best is you go down to Jaben or SE to audition amps and IC combos with your source and cans so you can hear what works best for you. Jaben has the Go-Vibe v5 and crossroad, SE has Xenos.
  5. For longer cables you can try the syncwrap. SE has both.
  6. Aii... never got a chance to try those bullpup rifles, especially SAR21 supposed to be a very good rifle of its type. Depending on your taste, E6i is light on bass and um1 really poorly extended to my ears, especially on treble. I never realise how much until I compared it with my ksc75.
  7. Sorry, another OT: This made me recall my old NCC days when we were using M16 and laughing at the NPCC guys for using AR-15... Sigh... what fond memories... Things have changed since then...
  8. Thanks for all the info csleena! I think I'm gonna go for the xenos after all. Save that little bit over the Go-vibe for a good IC instead...
  9. Is the hissing really that loud? What ic are you using with yr amps? Does it really make a big difference like people say?
  10. I would think clarity and treble at the expense of some bass.
  11. How about a short length of cable? Easier and can keep yr iems stock.
  12. Heh... is the direct opposite for me. I tried the grey flexes for a few of days when I first got my um1. Too hard and creates uncomfy air pressure in my ears no matter how I adjust. I've stuck with modded biflange and complys since then. Only take out the grey soft flex when lend to other ppl to try.
  13. Jaben doesn't have the xenos in stock, nor the LDM+. The Go-vibe is a bit outta my budget though...
  14. Modding the shure tri-flange is just a couple snips of the scissors. My fav tip so far.
  15. Come on, a little help u guys?
  16. Someone please help me! I've gone thru all the reviews and all the threads concerning these two amps and I still can't make up my mind which to get! I like the LDM+ for the casing, battery, supposed better details. Don't like it for the rough jack, jack placement, afraid it will sound too lean. I like the Xenos for beltclip, jack placement, supposed neutral and transparent. Don't like its casing and the fact its twice the price of the LDM+. Don't know if the improvements (if any,) is worth paying for double the LDM+. I really like the LDM+'s thin metal casing as opposed to all the plastic ones out there but dunno if the build quality of the jacks and internals good or not and scared the sound will be too lean for my liking. Is it worth paying extra for the xenos? Still have to get an IC after that, maybe the ultimate link ones and my wallet already bleeding all over the damn floor... I'm using um1, k81dj and ksc75 running on dell axim x51v which I imagine sound similar to an ipod since they use the same bernstein audio chip. Just dun ask me which gen ipod.
  17. Itsn't that gonna look freaky? UE carrots wrapped in silicon poking out of your ears... But the sensa customs do look better than the um56s.
  18. I also can't see anything special about the 'shuffle' hype. Maybe its cuz I listen to a lot of dj mixes and shuffling will ruin the whole experience. Anyway, I really love the new shuffle's design and clip but the only thing holding me back is the lack of screen. Even the new sony sports DAP is more appealing with a screen despite looking like a test tube.
  19. Anyone wanna get rid of theirs? Missed out on the MO...
  20. I think 'hard' liquor would be better...
  21. Sturdiness does not nessassarily mean no microphonics. Some aftermarket cables can be really sturdy, but the increased stiffness actually makes microphonics worst.
  22. Ya, es1 may not be suitable for normal use. Though if you check the westone site they only recommand against es3 for music listening.
  23. Might as well go full customs rite? Though haven't seen many reviews on the es1...
