  1. CHA47... interesting...hmmm, so where can we try it out?
  2. Evil-Zen, how did you order antness Gilmore V2? And how did you make the payment?
  3. I agreed with jtfoo regarding the use of the ac-dc adapters for laptop because these are usually of better build and reliablility. However, you could also try Kevin Gilmore's ultra-regulated power supply, if you're adventurous enough.
  4. www.bluetin.com, used to cost S$148, now I think it is S$152.
  5. I believed you would have read enough review about it already so I don't think there's a need to describe the sound to you. The Sony D66SL are really good and there are less than a handful of negative review that you will find at head-fi, the rest just rave on and on about how good the D66SL is. I have a pair and if you would really like to try them, just drop a msg.
  6. ablaze, That's REALLY an UNSTABLE piece-of-crap, should only used them for non-important applications. Go for a better one and you will find nirvana
  7. I hope I can start with my CMOY circuit tonight but I am still short of the 3.5mm or 1/4" stereo chassis socket. Wonder if anyone knows which shop in SLT sells them, going to rush down from work today to get them.
  8. Not really sure but I thought I saw them at AVIT Link at SLS.
  9. Congrats Rameish, BTW, the DT-880 "SOUNDS" interesting to me!!! Hope you can get them to match the price at Meier Audio.
  10. Watch it, the prices at RS Components, your online SLT, may be more expensive than the SLT in town. However, it is easier to source for hard-to-find components.
  11. Yup, absolutely no charge and I felt that the online catalogue from RS Components is more friendly than Farnell's.
  12. hi jtfoo, I am not really sure about the thermal crosstalk distortion, just that it was mentioned in Chu Moy's article. I guess it may be distortion or interference due to thermal dissipation from both the opamps in the same package.
  13. hi yekim, I have actually ordered the units from RS Components, cost me $4.14 per piece. The online catalogue mentioned that they have the OPA132 but they called me later and said it has been discontinued. Farnell also carries the OPA134PA and sells them at $4.02. However, if your order is less than $50, then you will have to pay delivery charge of $10. Regarding the tube amp that you are doing, it is difficult, you have got me interested in it as well. Care to share some experience?
  14. If friendly excellent service tags along with it, I don't mind. I am a "service-oriented" customer.
  15. Thanks alot. BTW, I thought the OPA2134 may introduce thermal crosstalk distortion?
  16. hi, I was looking at Chu Moy's Portable Amplifier Design at headwize.com and wanted to DIY. However, I was not able to get the Burr-Brown OPA134PA-ND opamp locally in Singapore. Could any kind soul here provide some directions? I don't really want to order online unless necessary. On the other hand, would anyone recommend a suitable audio-specific opamp that can be used as a substitute and purchased in Singapore easily? Thanks. BTW, Rameish, don't worry, I am still very interested in the Porta Corda II but I got to find some time to be able to get to your place for the audition.
  17. I have read some reviews about the Porta Corda II and I am pretty impressed by it but just want to confirm that it can run on external DC supply, heard that it have a be a linear power supply. BTW, will it be able to drive the AKG K501 well ? And can anyone tell me where I can get the AKG K501, in Singapore, including a rough estimate of the price? Rameish, I will SMS you regarding the audition of PC II.
  18. Wow guys, thanks alot. I see that there's alot of friendly people in this forum. Nice!!! gryphon1972, thanks for the offer, would keep in mind. Thanks!!! BTW, N@Z, just for you to let you know, I am a he
  19. If that's the case, I think I would want to give the Corda amps a try then.
  20. Rameish, thanks for offerring me a chance to try the amps but I would have to see if I have anytime. I do find that the price the Porta Corda to be a bit steep ...
  21. Yes, well worth a try, perhaps I can look out for you if anyone is interested in selling theirs...
  22. Are you sure that you can get the HP890 for only S$75????
  23. Sorry N@Z, but I find the D66SL too good to let go for the time being.
  24. After getting hook into Head-Fi, I am starting to get really interested. To begin with, can anyone recommend a portable and another home amp? It would be good if you can give me directions on where to get them. Thanks. I have a D66SL but looking forward to get an AKG K501
  25. I bought them from this guy Minhwa of www.bluetin.com for $148, now about $152, check out their website. Minhwa can meet you in City Hall, I always meet him there.
