  1. Another place to go would be Jaben Networks, its at The Adelphi, opposite funan, 04-11. I think u can head down to jaben and give the Hippo VB a listen. They are one of the best bang for buck iem out there, top sound with a very decent price.
  2. I don't own and nv really heard IE8/Zune HD, so not really in a position to comment. Though, i've came across quite a number of guys in head-fi posting their impressions on IE8 + X1000, so u probably can head over there and have a look.
  3. Zen X-Fi is the cheaper one, it has sd-card slot, but it doesnt integrate into the rest of the library (kind of defeats the purpose). Sound Quality i prefer S9/X-1000. In terms of sound quality, S9 with its sound enhancement enabled is about on par with X-1000 . Personally, i prefer the X, but that's just me. A lot depends on what iems/headphones u use though, synergy is important.
  4. I'd recommend going down to Jaben to try out some phones. Personally i think there are other iems that gives better Price:SQ than the lower end shures, westones or UE's. @Jaben, u can try Crossroads Woodie 1 or 2, Hippo Shrooms or Hippo VB all sound very good and is priced competitively as well. or Head-direct.com, i believe the RE0 goes for USD 79, which is a steal considering that it really gives some of the best universal iems a run for their $$.
  5. It would help if u can state your budget. It is best that u go audition the iems yourself as one man's meat can be another's poison. Maybe u can head down to Stereo Electronics (causeway point) or Jaben network (the adelphi, opposite funan).
  6. Not sure ... however, i do know that Jaben carries it.
  7. I'm not very sure abt the price now cos i got it some time ago, so u gotta contact Jaben for the price. If the price is still the same, it shld be ard 300. Hvn heard ER4P for some time, but from wad i know, main difference is that q-jays hv more bass than er4p, though its not at a "basshead" level. Like i said, its best to audition it personally, at jaben. Uncle wilson will be glad to help u out Cheers
  8. Etys are the obvious choice, though if u want more bass, the Q-Jays are a good choice (note: both not for bassheads), very small and comfy as well. The Q-Jays are only available at Jabens i think, cos i got mine there. The type of music u listen to is impt as well, so like everyone else says, its better to go down and audition it urself Cheers
  9. They're available over at Jaben, u can check out some of their special bundles as well

    ER4Ps

Dun think it is available at Amazon yet. And yea, they are probably the cheapest dual driver u can find out there.

    ER4Ps

Another option is the newly released Q-Jays, which according to reviews have a balanced spectrum like the ER-4 but with more bass. You may wanna read more abt the reviews at head-fi. One problem is that you probably need to get it online as i dun think it is available in sg.
  12. I've looked at the thread and someone posted a review of the C700 vs iM716 and i think the post may hv some answers u are looking for. So, end of the day it still boils down to personal preference. Whether u prefer a warmer sound or a more detailed sound. As i said, can't comment about the C700s but i can share some thoughts on my newly depodded iM716s (47ohm). (i'll try my best as i'm not really gd at describing sounds) Bass: Detailed and Deep. Delivers bass in quality, not quantity Mids: Again, very detailed. Vocals are upfront. Treble: Once again, fantastic details, but not overly harsh. Has this good sense of airyness ie u can feel the vibration of the air with every strum of the guitar. Overall: Good Detail across the spectrum. Unmodded HD mode was too analytical and harsh but depodding it solves this problem completely. Almost up to the ER-4's level if u ask me, at less than half its price. Hmm .... some things for you to consider: Price, need to depod the im716 to get its full potential etc. Hope it helps =D
  13. Me too ... sry can't help you. Btw, just done "Podectomy" on my iM716's with 47ohm resistors. All I can say is WOW ~!~!~!
  14. Like i say, i think the best option is to go audition the phones and hear it for yourself. Again, Jabens and SE are the places to go.
  15. AL iM716 actually has two modes, bass and HD. HD is more like ER4 but treble not as smooth slightly too analytical sounding imo while bass mode obviously has more bass and slightly warmer sounding as well. They have high impedence but they react well to amping. Cons: the Pod is quite useful if u need to control the volume often but the weight can be annoying sometimes. Overall, if u ask me, im716 is quite value for money at the price of $149 or $159 (can't remember lol). As for the other two, hvn really seriously heard them, can't comment. Anyway, i suggest u make a trip to either or both Stereo Electronics or Jabens to try it out for urself. I'm sure Aaron and Uncle Wilson will be glad to help u. ( SE does hv the im716 and Er6i for auditioning, not sure abt C700)
