  1. Gosh, only companies like B&O can get away with this man. Yesteryear technology coupled with sky high prices but with a big, BIG reputation behind it. Sigh, the power of branding.
  2. Lol. We all come in read but cannot help so yea...explains the 78 views. Can't help either cos I've zero soldering skills too. Maybe you could try experimenting yourself?
  3. Jaben is at Adelphi. The nearest one around Woodlands would be Stereo.
  4. Second PPKiller on the external DAC with built in amp. Try Fubar III with supplier.
  5. I think I know what you've referring to. Headphones with many micro speakers in the ear cup to give the "surround" effect. Personally, I've never tried them before but I would think the SQ can't be all too fantastic though if you're using it for gaming and stuff (hence the need for surround sound) then it shouldn't be too significant.
  6. Yep, the lite2 cable is shipped with all new UE phones. looks better too. think they cost bout $35. not cheap so don't replace them unnecessarily or unless you fancy another colour to go with your outfit or something. lol
  7. EBs make a good buy especially since they're the only dual drivers of the lot. Enjoy your purchase!
  8. Firstly, I would like to apologise for hijacking the thread and asking about the differences between the various Grado pads. However, I did so with the intention of understanding the topic starter's thread more clearly since I do not own a pair of Grado cans. After all this forum is focused on helping the various members know more about audio is it not? Now rkivie, this therefore justifies my queries about the HD414 pads and do note I specifically asked later on whether they were Grado comfies painted black thus the assumption that I had no idea what the HD414 pads makes little sense. Next, perhaps I should make it clear that my main question lies in the differences between the comfies and the flats. And in your words, if I were to "put all those information together, make a few connections, give it some independent thought, you would have been able to answer your own questions." Clearly, you assume that I have seen and or used a pair of RS-1 fitted with the original flats which is not the case. Conversely, if that was the case then there would be no need for my questions would there? Once again, you demonstrate your disinterest in answering my questions but there was really no need for the underlying sarcasm in your ensuing replies. Also, if you had pondered so hard over my previous post as to what I meant when I asked if you would imagine what material the comfies were made of, it was tongue in cheek and not a doubt of your intellect; as you have been appearing to doubt mine all this while. Once again, this is yet another futile post which would bring me few answers. I apologise for poor behaviour on my part for so rashly replying to rkivie's post and in my haste made some distasteful comments and fouled the original purpose of the thread. However, my question still remains over the differences between the flats and comfies. It appears that this thread has been the wrong place to ask my question so I shall find the answers I seek elsewhere. Thank you for being so gracious in continually replying my posts with such long detailed replies rkivie. I wish you all the best in finding the answers you seek regarding the flats. Till we meet again, Nofing.

Free sample? Meaning all I need to do is solder the stuff on.
  10. Eh our ear hair is not like the hair on ladies legs and wherever else there's unwanted hair. Wax off your ear hair somehow you better hope you know sign language. Lol.

Ok. I'll work on that. Where can I find the opamp and how much does it cost?
  12. No offence meant but if it's precisely because the contents of your first post does little to clarify my doubts which is why I had to be precise in my questions posed in post #9 if you had bothered comprehending it and comparing it to the "information" you generously made available in your first post. Also, if the flats are made of foam then what material would you imagine the comfies to be made of? It really is kind of obvious rkivie that you seem pretty uninterested in answering my queries. That's fine with me but there really is no need to direct me to unnecessary information which I've not asked for like the "origins of the flats pads". So it would benefit you too, to not only read but understand what I'm asking.
  13. So are the flats like modded comfies? But with the same material and design?

So I can just change the opamp? What do I need to do that?
  15. Haha. But haven't had a chance to listen to the Koss. Though I know that the many mods for it makes it sound way above it's price.
  16. Yea, the impressions scare me. If anything screws up that better not be it because I only have one pair of ears. Then again so many of you guys have had the impressions done at Jaben. Looks like my wallet will decide on this one. Lol.
  17. The audiologist part is tricky. But having your impressions done at Jaben saves time and money. And is doing the impressions painful. I saw one guy having his done probably for the Livewires and he had to do it like 5 times and he was grimacing each time the wire or whatever strange contraption it was went into his ear.

OT abit. Thanks for the link flashlight. But it's added to my confusion because there's apparently 2 versions of the cr 2. Lol.
  19. Oh, I was thinking having a bigger screen couldn't hurt. Least there's more eye candy to go with your music. Then again, bigger screen means bigger fingerprint magnet. Looks like m3's the way to go then...
  20. For bassy headphones, let's have a throw up between the Beyerdynamics DTX50 and the UE super.fi 5 EB. I've honestly only heard the DTX50 and it well sounds very bassy so much so I couldn't use it for more than one track. (I'm not a bassy person but for the sake of this thread we'll see.)
  21. Like what burping boy said, could try the Cowon D2 or some of the offerings by Samsung. Like the k3. (Both are flash based and I think maybe D2 can play video, k3 can't for sure unless you're into powerpoint slides. But D2 does support expandable memory though by way of SDHC cards.) I'm leaning towards the k3, well simply because I'm using one now. Lol.
  22. A few thoughts here. 1. The stone plus or whatever is called is supposed to launch in black, white and pink according to Cnetasia. 2. Creative is being plain mad launching this model so soon and at such a price. They're practically killing the original stone. Which is really bad business strategy given that time and resources had already been channelled towards the manufacturing and advertising of the stone. Also, launching the plus so quickly leaves doubts about the original stone. 3. And typical of Creative, they being the Kiasu Singaporeans we all are must send in more than one product to compete across the various market segments (especially the lower end). Look at the Zen V plus, the Zen Wav, Zen Neeon, Neeon 2 and you get the idea. It makes like sense no matter how you look at it so supporting Creative is really quite hard. Given their schizophrenic behaviour.
  23. Geez, what were you thinking of when you posted the comment about nostril people loop_?LOL you made my day!
  24. So flats and comfies are different? And hd414pads are yellow comfies? What's the difference between flats and comfies? Material, comfort?
