as nofing said, get higher quality mp3s. then get a gd soundcard, i have the echo audio dj. it's pretty gd, n compact too. 0404 usb is another great choice, but much bulkier if u can afford the bulk, connect the line out to an amp. then amp to a gd set of phones. take into consideration if u want yr system to be stationary or mobile to decide wat components u need. looks like u have some way to go!

great mod! really complements yr desktop. after looking at all the tacky banana stands, sth tells me u can mass produce yours n make a nice profit... hehe.

just got it done at LHS today, instead of getting a brand new set of wires, i modded my existing silver wires which originally were 1 1/8 male -> 2 RCAs to 2 1/4 male -> 2 RCAs. they were terminated with neutrix connectors, n cost $15 total. abit ex for a simple mod, but oh well there was nobody else.

as above. it'll be used to connect my soundcard to my amp, so they'll be short. any ideas where to get them or make them? i'm open to anything, even DIY hobbyists. i'm hoping to get silver wires, if they're affordable. thanks!

keep in mind that micro only has a headphone out, so the signal's pre-amped. so it wont save u from poor amping by micro in the 1st place. it does definitely still improve the sound, just not by as much as it could've.

can wires have a sonic signature? arent they supposed to be just transports, n thus be as uncoloured as possible?
