    HD600

yeah listen out for that Denon midbass punch, it's unforgettable. the bass detail is amazing. if u listening to rock, hip-hop & dance, there's no better pair of cans.
  2. soon. now the SDHC is 16gb, then 32gb. 64gb is easily on horizon. hard drives will soon be dinosaurs. more great news here http://mobile.amirw.net/

    HD600

it is that good with most genres and it's not finicky about amping. my HD600 is better for classical & jazz though but the Senn needs some nice amp to maximise potential.
  4. nice to hear. get the D2 when u're sick and tired of carrying around additional luggage.

lol, that's why a burnt-in set should be more expensive. some speaker manufacturers like GMA charge extra for burning-in. nice review, my fave for classical and jazz is still the K701. and i prefer the HD600 over the HD650 anyday, it just sounds more balanced. but my current reference cans is the Denon D2000 for anything but those 2 genres.
  6. that's true. throw the latest Pico into the mix for even more top-end portable choices. i really can't decide which i like better. both i can live with for a long time.
  7. cloning can be even better. for the same price, swap cheapie caps for high-end bi-polar Blackgate electrolytics, Solen Teflons and Kiwame or Riken resistors. u can even change wiring to higher purity copper/silver or even change circuit boards to include pure copper/silver paths. and best of all, customize the sound to your liking. and improve on the wood chassis by changing it to an all-copper clad insides for extreme shielding. possibilities are endless. boutique parts that Grado can never include at the present selling price.
  8. the Cayin has a narrow footprint no worries, so you can seriously consider this baby. failing which try the RSA SR-71 which will run solely on batteries.
  9. dun waste money getting the ripoff RA-1 when u can get a CMOY amp for a fraction. http://www.ecp.cc/ra1.html
  10. you got it dude, keyword: FEEL also my opinion, no armature is as musical sounding as a dynamic driver.
  11. the HD650 is not a portable can. you are much better off investing in a proper desktop amp like the Cayin HA-1A which has good synergy with the Senn.
  12. no need for multiple drivers, single dynamic drivers can give u a real feel of the music. here's another view http://www.futuresonics.com/files/atriodatasheet2007.pdf
  13. no need to be audiophile, i bet u can tell the diff between 110 & 210, the 210 has substantially better mids & highs with greater bass definition. i prefer the 210 to say SF5pro. on top of that the Shures are way more comfortable than ultimate ears.
  14. i'm gonna make a guess that the Pico will lose out slightly to iQube but it will beat the Predator easily.
  15. nope. it doesn't really need one since it already sounds great thru headout. gives you 1 less luggage to carry around.
  16. lol tats tru. if i see anyone wearing the 701 commuting in public, my evil side is gonna be really tempted to ridicule them.
  17. how much u willing to pay for a mint condition Hornet with the rare green finish?
  18. dude it's no secret that the SQ from ipod headout sucks. almost every other current kimchee player in market like Samsung, Cowon, iRiver, LG thrashes the ipod for SQ from headout. even Wong Hoo's Creative Zen player sounds better. the new Sonys are also awesome sounding from the headout plus as an added bonus, Sony rightly dumped the useless SonicStage software, making them nice to use now. for your ipod to sound decent, u really need to have some kinda mods done to it like the iMod. but this will cost u an arm and a leg, and thus take away some of the fun. you can also use an outboard amp with the signal from the ipod lineout. this should improve things, but then u gonna have added weight and luggage, thus taking away some of the fun again. that's why increasingly, many users are turning to other quality DAPs with awesome headouts and just by adding a great pair of IEM's like the Shure 530, Westone UM2 or Ultimate Ears TF10, will give you unbridled joy. so the compromise is that u abandon iTunes for other dragNdrop methods or proprietry ones in place of superior SQ. those who are rigid on iTunes have no choice but to stick to the inferior headouts.
  19. u need at least an iqube. but then again the 701 is NOT a portable.
  20. just heard the new Zen and it's excellent sounding. at that price for the 32gb, it's unbeatable for value. u can also playoff the expandable SDHC card. say 32gb + 8gb SDHC = 40GB!!!!!!!!!! wow. the end of hard drives is VERY NEAR. for now Wong Hoo rocks.
  21. for your budget, you can checkout the Shure SE210 & UE SF5pro. i like the mids & highs of the SE210 over the SF5. but the bass of the SF5 is more detailed & enjoyable, the overall sound is more balanced & full than the SE210. so depends on what you lilke, do check these 2 out. comfortwise the Shure is much better than the UE.
  22. between those 2, i would say TF10. it would take the SE530 or Westone UM2 to matchup with the TF10. of the 3, TF has most details in the highs & and the brightest sounding. SE530 has the most details in the mids and while it sounds brighter than UM2, SE530 sounds less bright than TF. UM2 has the strongest bass of the 3, but less details in the mids & highs than the other 2, not surprising coz the UM2 has 2 drivers while the TF & SE530 have triple drivers. comfortwise the SE530 & UM2 are almost the same and for most people both are more comfy than the TF. so choosing between the 3 is a matter of preference plus the matching with amp or DAP.
  23. even harder to forget the sound.
  24. westone 3 delay smells like vaporware.
