  1. If you really want a DIY amp built, there is always pro builders on head-fi. As well as on the site aaron-xp mentioned.
  2. Yea, true. I have not heard them myself. Those are based on several reviews I have read from head-fi. But most of them(top range), dont seem to be recommended for music genres like Hip-Hop/ Rap/ R&B? I have a open headphone now, and I will always hear something from the surroundings(at home), such as the fan, talking or others. So Im looking for a closed phone that have at least some isolation, and portability will be a plus for me too. Anyway, I have a CKK3 amp coming up, it should be rather decent.
  3. Oh, I see... Thanks for the reply and insight 1bit!
  4. LOL. Let me tell you, I am NOT trying to get anywhere. Look at you. You call this friendly service? Must be kidding me. Are you trying to jack me in public? I wouldnt even bother msg-ing you the second time if I didnt think you was friendly. You sure you run a shop too? And expect me to purchase from you the next time by doing so? Everyone judge for yourselves. Disappointment.
  5. I checked, SE doesnt have either the ES7/A700 for auditioning. Reviews are that Grado's are too bright and lean on the bass for such genres and blasting, which I IMO think so too. Most Sens are too laid back, HD 25-1 seems great thou. AKG's 501 -701 are lean on bass too. Beyers are rather bassheads, I have heard a few models personally. OH MAN, I NEED ADVISEEEE....
  6. Yep, you should be. EDITED: later I get banned by everyone. lol. Guess thats the cost for them bringing in the stuff.
  7. Yea, I went to read several reviews on both A700 and A900, it looks like they are quite close in each other in terms of SQ. And I think its exceeding my budget too. The AXXX series are huge man, comfy yea? How does ATH-ES7 compare to A900? Dudes at Head-fi seem to love it, maybe partially for the looks. Haha.
  8. Btw, does anyone know if its possible to use a regulated 12V DC instead of the recommended 15-24V? Since the regulators downs the voltage to 12V anyway.
  9. LOL. Haha. Left the *big* out. K81DJ is too bassy IMO. I have read reviews on A700, seems good. Have you heard Sony V6? Its around the same price range.
  10. Haha. I dont exactly have a *big* head actually, well. Haha. Whats the price of AT A700? Yea. Gotta hear them out. Anyw, impedance isnt much of a concern for me since I hav a headphone amp for it.
  11. They seem to be geared towards softer music like the T20, not for music genres like hip-hop, rap.
  12. Hi, I looking for a headphone for listening to music genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, Electronic. I am willing to spend up to $400, does not matter if they are closed or open phones. Bass is a big factor for me, it got to have good quality, punchy bass but I'm def not a "basshead". I do like to blast my headphones once in a while too, Sr60 sure dont serve that purpose well - it gets too bright. Well, a all-rounder, audiophile standard headphone is def preferred too, considering the price I'm paying I only have a Grado SR60 with bowls currently. For amps, I have a mini^3 now and CKK3 coming up. Current contender(s): Denon D2000 Beyers DT990 (2005/Pro?) EDIT: Or Senns HD580? All suggestions and comments are welcomed!!
  13. Music is like food. Everyone has their own preferences. To me, its almost like a vicious cycle. First you get better headphones, next you would want a capable amplifier to drive it, then comes a good source...oh wait there is still the interconnect. Lol. (many will not agree with me) If you can afford, go for it. 1k is a considerable amount. Might be better spent off something else. Otherwise, lets not be so materialistic. Haha. Well, you dont need a great system to enjoy great music. Enjoy!

    Drilling holes

Anyone know of shops where they offer drilling service for metal or plastic panels?
  15. I have included the shipping costs, its in the first post.
  16. Gilmore lite LE's internal design is the same as the non-LE version. (I wish not to say more as I would not like to undermine the product) A Limited Edition product is obviously limited, which also mean it is out of production, with the number of units produced. In other words, its really obvious what LE means, you dont need to explain it. We should stop this, its not a place for discussion. Do it somewhere else if you wish. Regardless, jmmtn4aj, take this as bumping up your thread - free advertising. My apologies. MOD EDIT: Removed all discourteous remarks. And I don't see why you are continuing with this discussion when you are evidently aware that it is against the regulations.
  17. dudes, you are taking it too personal. I wasnt even aiming at you. oh wells oh wells, guess I was dumb enough to have even commented. I shall remove what I have said.
  18. Oh I see.. Thats cheap compared to the one from glass jar audio man. Those there arent exactly boutique parts either, just bust better vishay/dale resistors and panasonic fc and nichicon uhe caps. Though the alps and hammond enclosure alone cost US$38.
  19. I am just wondering how much did it cost you in total, without the enclosure, to build the SOHA amp? Its rather hard to find the pcb now though. The relays as in? But any case, the kit seems reasonable priced with alps p.meter and hammond enclosure. What do you guys think?
  20. Oh I see, thanks for that man. I probably would not have known if you did not mention it
  21. I am utterly amazed by a limited edition AMPILFIER. WOW. Aint that amazing? Thats a first for me. A amplifier going limited edition. Its a AMPLIFIER dude. Whats the difference with it by the way? The colour? LOL. Not like its some really great amplifier anyway. Maybe you should have thought about it before buying. Then you would not have to make a loss now. MOD EDIT: Thread crapping is strongly disencouraged. Please observe the tone of your postings as well.
  22. I would expected the total cost to be slightly more than S$200. Since the kit includes the transformer and the enclosure, the weight of the kit will not be very light. So shippings cost is definately more than US$10.
