  1. So is the UM1 a good choice? I like accurate sound so I figured these are the best I can get on my budget.
  2. The problem is that I have no idea where I can try out the E5 let alone the UM1. I live in Dallas so I'm sure there is a place but I'm not sure.
  3. My Shure SE210s recently went out on me, so I'm looking around for something new. My budget is $150 and I want to get the best possible earphones and amp. I've been hearing a ton of good things about the UM1 so I'm seriously considering them. http://bit.ly/7N9ecw Also, I've never owned a HP amp before so I did some research and found that the E5 is both extremely small and cheap. http://bit.ly/8dCebo It's size is what really caught my eye though. I look around at people's "portable" rigs and find myself saying, "How is that portable??" I keep my iPhone 3G in my front pocket. I cant fit some huge amp in there so the Fiio seems to be my best choice. What are your thoughts/suggestions?
  4. I'll give you an example: I own an iPhone. In order for me to get the best audio possible, I will use an LOD (Line Out Dock), instead of the head phone jack, to connect my amp to my iPhone. http://bit.ly/5i4J0h
  5. "better is always a difference of standards and what you're looking for. If you're looking for accurate IEM - Eternas are lousy choice. If you want something fun and packs a punch, then they're a keeper." weibby from Head-Fi http://bit.ly/84xONf
  6. Haha! Yea I know exactly what you are talking about. I'm having major withdrawals. The whole reason I found this forum was because of the head-fi down time. I wonder how many headphone forums/sites are experiencing a spike in visits. Head-fi is what got me interested in headphones and i miss the site so much!! I hope they get back online tomorrow.
  7. I own Shure's SE210s. They are very nice for the money. You could easily find them for $150 and under. They come with a nice carrying case as well which goes well with the whole gift giving thing. Good luck.
  8. I would get the DT 770s. They have a nice strong bass along with great all around sound. They have a slightly recessed upper-mid section but thats not much of a problem. They are a great pair of headphones and are exactly what you are looking for.
  9. Would you happen to be a Head-fier? That's where I'm going to reserve mine. Unfortunately head-fi.org is down right now. That is why I am using this forum. haha.
  10. Take a look at the Gilmore Lite. It is a very nice headphone amp that you will really enjoy. I just wish they still had it in black.
  11. I would head over to headamp.com and get yourself the Gilmore Lite Headphone Amp. It is a very nice amp. I just wish they still had it in black. haha
