  2. was your girlfriend bewitched by the old man? stereo sells tonnes of mainstream consumer earphones + exotic ones at reasonable price. Most can be auditioned.
  3. for those who didn't go, can check out me and a friend's photo blog of the event here: http://sgzap.com/x2xhep http://sgzap.com/892ywb
  4. the video is watched before liao included in the cd that came with the invitation. so i spent the time snapping photos instead. will be posting on my blog my experience later and copying over. didn't know that senn has requested for photos not to be posted until saturday... but its just a few photos of me with the headphones on so i think i'll be putting it.
  5. hm would a simple ibasso D3 be enuff to drive it?
  6. lol hahah cool stuff:)
  7. imo its main selling pt is design.. the SQ not very good compared to most others of the same price range.. however, damn cool to own one:)
  8. yep, you got to listen to them first... The non-dac version of Petite sell for only $150, but since you are comparing it to iBasso D2 which has a DAC, so I assume you are talking about the the Petite+DAC version. I can't tell you much about D2 since I don't own it, but i have the D3 which is only $69 more than the govibe petite+dac. I owned the petite+dac little more than 1 month before selling it to upgrade to D3. Petite is too "petite" to offer any real performance. D3 sounds so much better, can use as dedicated dac, more driving power, better design, plus spare screws and an additional enclosure (one silver, one black) is supplied for you to swap around to see which color u prefer. Everything about D3 spells quality, from its circuit board to enclosure design. then again, who noes, you may like the petite sound better, so its better to listen listen first:) Petite has got its plus for being, well petite. Changing the gain setting for headphone through jumper is tedious and noise floor is very high on the higher gain setting. Not so on the D3. Think about it this way, if you buy the Petite+DAC for $250 (the retail price last time i check), you are spending $250 for a $150 amp, but if you buy the iBasso D3, you are paying $319 for an amp that can fight with RSAs in the $500~$600 mark (google for reviews). Some even commented that D3 sounds even better than Predator. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f105/predato...asso-d3-375457/ note: you have seen many pple selling petites in the forum to "Upgrade" but u seldomly see the same of D2 or D3 unless it is to another iBasso product.
  9. the usb will drive the dac section only. battery will drive the amp section only. you can use it as either a stand-alone dac with a line out, dac+amp combo, or stand-alone amp. Coming from the govibe petite+dac, D3 beats the govibe hands down in terms of SQ and features. D3 also comes with extra screws and even an extra different color casing for you to swap around:) If u lost a screw in govibe you got to go beg for one.
  10. We can tentatively reserve a slot for yourself and cygig on 4 June, Thurs, 7.15pm. btw... really envy you guys, the hd800 is freaking 2000+, i can't afford:(
  11. lol i was looking for the banana as well but instead found this which i feel is more classy hehe
  12. Was shopping in Daiso today... And wham! This seemingly useless item makes a good headphone stand. [attachmentid=4137]
  13. I am not sure because i sold my normal portapro last year. The differences are mainly in looks, but the sleeving of the cable is different. It might mean that a better cable is being used in this version. I prefer this new cable, the regular one seems very filmsy. - I want to ask a question, can the px200 earpads fit directly on portapro? Because i saw on head-fi some people recommend using px200 earpads for less muddy bass, but not mentioned if the earpads can fit without modifying them. Portapro is currently the best sounding yet cheapest headphone/earphone in my collection. It sounds better than Super Fi 5 Pro at 300bucks, but it is unfair to compare because one is a portable headphone and one is a IEM:)
  14. i am so getting it. going down to SE tml to get mine.. kinda regret selling my PortaPro a few months back. Now its time to get it back:)
  15. My portable rig... pocket not deep enough to buy all the things I want.. but this will do:)
  16. got my hfi15g.. am loving it. note that the wordings on the set i have is silver, not gold as in the photo above.
  17. yay!!!!!! Reserve one set for me:) Today or tml I go down:)
  18. hfi15g is from ultrasone, not senn. good list but the price range is all over the place!
  19. tried out hfi15g at stereo, it was out of stock though. Sounds great, and very comfortable. for someone like me who cannot take the heat of a closed headphone, I guess hfi15g is for me.
  20. sorry for sorta hijacking your thread.. am in the market for a new headphone as well.. budget is about 100. any recommendation?
  21. can go jaben look for those from other brands, or bluetin.com for audio technica ones which i think are better..
  22. I got this small sony grey pouch that comes with my Sony EX85. Fits nicely!
