  1. Actually i have a Belden Brilliance Coax cable terminated w/ nice crimpped Canare RCA plugs. It actually gives a warm sound the problem is it also narrows the soundstage alot. I will try out a few until I get the ones I want but i will be sticking to Optical for the Moment until I borrow Cals cable. The QED looks nice. What I want to try is Eric's new toy. It cost more than a audiophile power cable. lol!. @Cal Any power cables you can recommend me to try. I was hoping to get a "bit" more bass. =) If it's ok Can I borrow your cables. Thanks for offering them. Now really broke. lol!
  2. I believe it's March 22. The one Aaron is brewing it should be here at the "Home Equipment" Section. We can arrange something for you when you come in. Update: Found it is now a STICKY. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=9604 Yes I'm uing the 340c as a Transpot to my DacMagic. I'm using optical. Might play around with Coax one of these days. but no urge right now. I wil upgrade only if I find my Dac Magic can't handle my music. tight now all's well. No urge for other sources. Unfortunately I'm more into tweaks for the moment the Yammy very nice with my DacMagic+ Irukandji You just need to know what you want and get it w/o second thoughts. It might pass by. I do get good deals.

  4. I have a x40c already. a 340c. lol! Very happy w/ it. What I plan is to get a better power chord for the Yamy. I plan to try the one you tried with the BASS. Can you PM me what store and how much is it? But all of this will wait till End of Month. Wallet Bleeding out.
  5. I actually gasped as I din't noticed it was photoshopped. loL!
  6. Jig_sg is that yours? What does the Cap do to thre rig?. Wow. now I'm introuble. lol! Even with out tweaks yet. It sounds wonderful. Listening right now!
  7. Now VERY POOR due to unplanned acquisition. I will post pics later but this one IMO is one of my best purchases I ever made. After hearing it out for the 1st time on my Rig. Couldn't believe I was living withy my original amp. 100th Post
  8. Wow the box alone looks a winner. This might be a deadly Poisonous item inside (audio terms). lol! Edit: I missed posting by a minute. But the Thinnest Diapraghm in the world NEEDS to be heard. Nice acquisition jig_sg.
  9. Kachui, I tried the QR8 on the Sen just too tame for me. Lol! The mids got pronounce but I lost alot of my BASS. Nearly died with my music. loL! It was just not for me. But for love songs or Voice ladden track the QR8s on the HD650 does spell a big difference. I heard the power on the Voices of Patti Austin & James Ingram on Baby Come back and The melodic appeal of Cristopher Cross' - Sailing. Alanis live tracks had more life. But on Nickel back and Three Six Mafia I nearly cried trying to find my Bass It was Rap song with all rap. lol!
  10. @Kachui Erics gunning for something better in terms of coverage compared to the QR8. Ey thanks for the CDP. I'm listening thru my speakers now. My Music more brilliant than what I get from my PC. The QR8 and the CD Mat tweaks really worked for me.
  11. Hi Hellfire, I agree with Cal. DACs are digital in nature. Any new algorithm or technology does make a difference in final output. Even CDPs should follow the same route. Though DACs are still electrical devices so the quality of the components will also have a hand in the total result and the PRICE. Mind posting your budeget? Lets see what can we pull out. Some new Dacs such as the Audio GD compass are good for the price point. A not so old post I found on HeadFi. =) http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f46/all-dacs...-pt-2-a-325941/ An older post. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/blogs/granod...asier-dacs.html
  12. I am interested too. I can bring my dac magic, little country 3, modded HD650, JVC RX900, CD 900st. Might bring some Sony PCDP too. and definitely the Irukandji. If you don't mind my begginer photography skills. i will be bringing my DSLR just to take some photos for personal keep sake!

    IEM for rock

I also go for the Atrios. But if you find either the EB or Atrios too bassy (which both were made for). With you budget try out the Jay's D-jays they perform quite similar to grado and Alessandro Sound signature which some people would vouch "Best for Rock". Others like to use UM1s on rock too. You really have to go down stereo and Jaben to find which is best for you. =)
  14. Ouch, I'm having a migraine attack now due to the site's color theme. I believe if some one is epileptic that page would trigger one. After cut and paste to a word document. the article seems promising. I just find it weird to have all those stuff in your listening room or let alone your living room. But if that does work it might the first step of buying an expensive one as the concepts does apply. There's nothing more convincing than having experience the effect. Waah, I remembered my reaction when I was looking for an Audio Rack and Saw the Reviews on the "Rack of Silence" it was being praised on several sites. But after more googling i came to the actual price. I nearly choked and turn blue.
  15. WOW! I was actually dreaming of setting up a house back home with a room that can be used both as a Home Theather and a Stereo room. But the articles blew me away. I liked how Mr. Li wasn't selfish to have people peak thru his collection. I beleieve It would take me a month of seriously thinkering and listening to go Thru the 6 stories of gear he has. =) The Archive is just SAD on how a man reaches his greatest desire in the end not passing it on due to society's blind sight. it's the same story we get on the environment just imagine how many plant and animal species get wiped off the face of the earth per year. But again it's the realization of what is also happening now in terms of the global economy and the world's financial system. Man still goes for the "Buck" not the beautiful things he loses in getting it. Unfortunately I can confess I haven't done my part in this drama too. =/

    Tube Life

WOW!! That really was a nice read. =) Thanks Hellfire!
  17. Head I'm very interested too. if really cheap i will just buy there the last time I bought. i was EATEN alive by shipping cost. Down to my last 2 dogbrowns. Might nee dto buy somemore.
  18. Waah. this is VERY interesting. Please count me in!
  19. Wow. i wished I was able to hear out how the DACs sounded like. It might point me to a new path later. Eric you,ve been BUSY lately.
  20. I couldn't find this adaptor sold at shops. The local website selling is http://sg.farnell.com/ But it is expensive. I found this link from a fellow forumer. This is where i bought mine. price + shipping still cheaper than from SGfarnell. http://cimarrontechnology.com/audioupgradeadapters.aspx Hope this helps! =)
  21. Actually everthing will rise in Price as production and Manufacturing cutting down to cut cost. Lessening supply which would affect demnd too. The law of supply and demand catching up. Look what happened to UE. Anyway I do agree the W3 is a great phone unfortunately not to my taste. But the Distant Cousin really getting to my head and WALLET. Was able to try out a ES3x. My first taste of hearing a custom even without a seal and it trumps my IE8 by a mile IMO.
  22. Waah same boat went home 6pm due to some problems on Server Patching. ='( I hope by next week my hell week finished. Really tired. lol! Hope you guys ok! I believe everyone having more time enjoying their rig and tunning to preferences.
  23. @Direcow Nice job recabling. Considering not really a Pro. I actually envy you as I really suck soldering. BigTime! Haha! just a weird thought valgrind or even Crystal recabled Porta Pros. The cable alone XXXX times expensive lol!
  24. Price for Either Mullard or telefunken is Killer also. Lol! In any case I've been seeing alot of mullards on Ebay buy the telefunken just a few. Have you checked if 7308 can be equped on your rig. 6922 and 7308 have the same pin placements and sizes. I am thinking of getting an Amperex 7308 if one pops up. My LC3 can use 6dj8, 6922 and 7308. I currently have mnatched pairs for Jan Philips and Jan Sylvana 6922s but they are no match for the ones you're getting. =) Good luck on tube hunting!
  25. Hahaha not really actually this should be the time I start buying before I get into the nitty gritty of wedding Preparations and no time to buy oh no money to buy. Anyway, haven't really bought anything NEW I amn just swapping out some old stuff. Most of the time spending time listening. Oh and buying CDs. lol! If everything becomes ok in a a week or two. You should visit the LC3 again. The Jan Silvana 6922 tubes + tube rings does a lot of justice for my HD650 it is singing right now. My only gripe is the tube rings seems to do its job VERY well. it now takes 40-45 mins to heat up my amp from the original 20-30 min. But after heatup all harshness gone the LC3 very smooth and Very dark. I can actually listen to my Grado 325 and CD900st for the whole evening without tiring. @ eric. I also have the same prob from my DacMagic to my nEar05 I cannot place the irukandji anymore without making the signal unbalanced. But i still use the nEa05 with the IMOD as source on the Irukandji passing thru the unbalanced in of my Tapco Mix 50 Mixer. The sound is still very good. This was my setup when I took the pic below. This might not be the best setup but it is a very convinient and a low-cost way to use the Irukandji or an unbalanced CDP as a source. I still have A LOT to learn with unbalanced rigs. =) If not mistaken, to make the irukandji balanced you need to have another pair of caps inside one for each channel. =p You might end up getting two Irukandji modified to have the balanced signal for Left and right.
