  1. @hellfire. I can picture you njoying your rig already the pairing of the HD580 and the Millet Max is very good based on my impression on the Millet Max with my 650. As long as you enjoy listening it keeps you away from POISON bigtime. I'm actually listening alot more now rather than doing hunting. I was scared to post after the first one was a killer already. This is my HUMBLE Rig. Any way It's been a while and my home rig has changed a bit. The new addition to the lot. =)
  2. I second Kidult's suggestion. If you're listening thru CDs just get the best you can get which is still in a reasonable reach of your budget. If you have PC as source buy a good DAC!. While the ipod or Imod has its seat on the Irukandji already. Actually What pushed me to upgrade to Dac Magic is I still keep pulling out my IMod from my portable rig just to listen to my Desktop rig as the Zero+Irukjandji was <<< IMod+rukandji. The DacMagic lessend the imbalance alot as I now have a Clean source from my PC. =)
  3. I'm still thinking how to give UNBIASED impressions on a DAC. Logic tells me that I cannot use the usual "AMP" review, where you use phones and a source. This is because I need to consider the DacMagic as a SOURCE. If I do a review. The use of a separate amp would make the review a synergy of the DacMagic+the amp. Sorry I'm in the midst of redoing a Proposal I did last year for 3 months. My organization gave me the Task to make a NEW one last Monday and expect me to submit it by Feb 15. But if you ask ME. The Dac Magic is definitely an upgrade from the Zero even moddified (not to the point the modification needs soldering. ). For me anyway. I found it strange that from what is posted on the web that it is too smooth or too forward. As on my Rig it wasn't the case. Yes it was smooth but not to the point it felt lifeless. It isn't very forward as pairing it with the CD900st made it musical for me. The best thing I liked about the DacMagic is it is very clean. I find during a listening session my songs have artifact/distortions on the ZERO. This happened after putting the IRUKANDJI in the line. The Irukandji showed it all. The DacMagic didn't have any of the distortions. But the details were all there! But again this was on my RIG. Note: I'm a anti-noise Freak! I hate hearing artifacts/distortions on my rig. That is why I am a self confessed RSA fan. I love the Low Floor Noise on the AMP. Can't wait to try out the Apache if Wkwlb permits us to grace it. I go CRAZY if I hear noise for more than 1 minute on my music. Due to the DAC Magic plus irukandji. I am now assessing my LC3 a an amp... *sniff When will it ever END!!!! Added Info. The Near05 is loving the balance connections from the DacMagic!!!! You will go there. Just don't be in a hurry. Unless you are not enjoying what you get on your Rig right now.
  4. I believe the suggestion would help a bit on bass QUALITY and may drive your speakers to give some more juice. But if its the QUANTITY you really need to buy a SUB. An addition of a sub will change everything including the way your wallet looks at you. =(
  5. I actually caught Cal and an accomplice lurking around Adelphi. Hunting down new toys. In a way, they caught me too. lol!
  6. Most of his cans balanced. He's been into balance for quite a while if you follow the threads on the other site. =) Now finishing my blueprints to the Hostel...
  7. And that that spanking NEW amp!!!
  8. Thanks for the fast response heady, I can understand administrator task as I Manage a Web based network for 21 countries on the Asia Pacific region. This issue isn't really that big. I just want to share some personal advice, one should always base action on sound judgement. Informing others of the mistakes would at least give them an idea of the mistake and it's on the person on how to mitigate it. I end up sending 50 or more personaly formulated emails a day plus the auto generated emails I send to inform inactivity or authentication records for failed logins. Anyways, let's get back to the music. I now only need 5 post more to be able to post on the FS anyway. =)
  9. Hi just wondering. I have been a member since Dec 18 last year. I have also been contributing to the forums on specific topics I have knowledge on. But My post count on the time I posted a FS is 43 I know of the 50 rule but having posted for a while in a month or so should be ok. mods can see the postings a member makes and maybe give an observation if the postings are constructive. I didn't want to post 7 postings more just to be able to post a FS it defeats the purpose of the 50 too. Anyways. Just wanted to have my self heard. My item was bought in another forum and the item btw is a DAC. I was planing to revise the post to Reserve. =( A suggestion: Could the Mod deleting a FS, PM the owner of the post for the reason of deletion. So as the person learns from the mistake and not do it again. Thanks!
  10. Waah too poor right now to Dream of getting a WOO Amp. Good thing my LC3 is ok for my taste. No itch to replace it for the mean time. @Rowdy If your setup has wood go for the notes but if metallic all the way. Buy a Woo audio if you don't mind buying from the web.
  11. Yup try SE and Jaben they should have Head Phone stands. I'm using music notes from Jaben as they spare the cups from actually clamping the stands. Less stress for the headphones. =) Just dreaming of getting a WooAudio Stand. The Metal finish is beautiful.
  12. lol! No need to attempt anything by posting here I believe you got poisoned already. I also have the same suggestion visit shops and tryout the DACs posted. Sound and Music are personal preferences. No use on rellying on posted scomments since People in SG are blessed to ble able to have shops where you can try out stuff before buying. I actually had to return several times to a shop to REALLY get what I wanted. =) OT: Listening to web radio with my Predator and IE8 now. "Sweet!"
  13. To add injury to the wound... The Pico is really good. Justin of Headamp is planing to release a PICO WITHOUT an AMP section. It will be purely a DAC. It will have several inputs and RCA outputs aside from the standard 3.5mm. but again it would be some $$$. But for price/performance I vote for the iBasso. But again it is always better to try out both and if you feel that the pico isn't that far from the D3 based on your preference it rationalizes your buy. But if the Pico is really better based on your taste. SAVE UP and buy it. BTW if you really don't need an amp and really stuck on a limb due to budget you must also try the Govibes they do justice for their size. =) Its no use to buy something and end up buying the 1st choice because you feel you need more. I can't tell you how many times I've been hounded by my previous choices. OT: I'm also looking for a new Desktop DAC.
  14. Not really. I'm thinking of replacing my trusty MS1. Just hope the owner of the other Grado wants an MS1 though. =)
  15. Uber if something pulls thru I might also be bringing a Grado. =)
  16. Will this happen this weekend. I'm drooling for the new stuff.
  17. One should not RESIST the Dark Side but embrace it. The Dark Side will be STRONG in you. Waaah, seems I'm getting another itch. My wallet is cursing me. =p
  18. Unfair (First word that came to my mind for not using english) =p
