yo bro~! now busy burning the amp and telos xlr and i havent get my headphones recabled to balanced yet need some time to as i need to change my connectors to xlr but i had a 1st hand time with Jojo's Black Dragon HD800... great separation, very very smooth + musical...now my source r bottlenecking the rest of the chain

well in my case it is singing on my hd800 and my franketein... even the lousy chopping board managed to give me timbre with my harmonixs in between my papan cincang but if u look closer there is a isolation taoc carbon cast under board itself...onli the cheapest and out of shape is the board but that i will sort it out in my next upgrade hmm still burning the amp and the telos gold reference together with it but i can say smooooothhhh like butter....any hd800 owners will be proud of having it to drive their overpiercing treble and giving it more bass depth...almost like B22 we tested long time ago....only not as dynamic as B22 but transparency and musicalitly is slighter better thanks for showing to me but after offloading on my balanced interconnnect,amp etc etc i back at square one again....but next upgrade will be a proper rack since i aledi has limited space there + the power supply is really really damm hot due it's a class A biased amp as i said, even a lousy chopping board able to give me good timbre and separation together with harmonixs...wat if i starting to use proper rack for my harmonix collections?

me maybe but i enjoying the Ear HP4 signature so much that if i going for TT then Ear phono amp i will aim for but for Jojo well he's dead stuck on RSA phono amp haha

the headamp itself the dac is not as good as other standalone dac... and it's most depend on yur headphones as well ...i using hd650/hd800 and beyer dt880 600 ohm with it and overall my powercords/tunings/interconnects bring the mids forwards...

now trying to figure wat i going to buy...sigh

mavericks defiently rock in lower end bass and has viciously forward midrange ... well the highs r a bit lacking compare to audiotrak and precisions not as good as audiotrak if u r using the mavericks dac itself....the dac is ok ok imo but i skipped it since i using Xindak dac-5 modded for it the internal amp on maverick is very good and for that price it is a no brainer... iamp is very good in driving hd800 since the hd800's trebles in need of control and warm bass with it maverick will drive any headphones easily but whether it is the soundsignature that u wan it depends on u entirely since u aledi mention the advantages and since if u have powercords then maverick will change according to powercords signature...and not forgetting maverick have exchangeable fuse so that the upgrade options r a lot anyone tried hifi fuse and isoclean fuse on it? if u worry bout the reliability, i have the older version maverick and it doesnt give me any problem ...the internal structure built like a tank and it will shine after burning in for 200 hours...the highs will settle down and bass become very deep and smooth... well that is said as much but in the end u will need to hear both whether they suits to yur taste and not relying entirely on reviews ... cheers!

if u like fast bass, forward mids then maverick is yur gun audiotrak is more to neutrality, precision and slightly more soundstage both r opamps changeable and it is very easy to swap however u may need to hear both whether it suits to yur taste but since u using k701 the ideal amp to drive it is the maverick more enough power to drive my beyer dt880 600 ohm bout 40% volume

put it this way, since i have vdh optocoupler mk2 optical cable and an oyaide bnc to rca sr-510 coaxial cable maybe i can help u out there i did borrow aron's home brewed rca coaxial cable which he kindly loaned it to me for comparison.... with the aron's cable i found it has same characteric as my VDH optical cable....very analogue took me some few tracks from technos, orchestrals, and fast music to notice the different bout it.. vdh has better highs, and more airyiness while aron's cables have much thicker mids, and tighter bass.. couldnt noticed the difference at 1st then when switched to Hd800 straight it showed up well hands down, the oyaide sr-510 wins over both of the cables...cos it using bnc .... even fresh of the box, the soundstage were well defined,fast and articulate bass and highs were present and very airy like giving a sense of space in between and mids r very well expressed ...bottomline is the cable r very very dead quiet and u can hear all those mircodetails...
