    DAC under $400?

Centrance Dacport LX around 400, usb Musiland MD10 lower than 400, coaxial, optical, usb. Best deal. Fiio stuff lower than 200 hmm various but limiting
  2. Well start assembling one, I'm sure you can do one like that. I just told Alamakzam yesterday so he got duped too, lol. Finally he read the last page.
  3. http://www.headphiles.org/index.php?topic=...w;topicseen#new see my review
  4. HAHAHAHA Bro you of all people, fell for that, lol No hard feeling ok, lol
  5. Well, I'm having the Lehmann audio BCL amp with me now, i switched with a buddy my LDmk4SE, the DT48A seems to benefit somewhat, sound is fuller but rounder, details are abundant, black is black background. It is very good with the HD650, doesn't make that can fast or thin, but smooth. Sounds better on this amp than the Burson. Still nothing beats my Sansui Vintage receiver amp, which i bet can even drive the Hifiman HE6.
  6. Add me for 1 thanks with power cord transformer.
  7. Should try also the Optical to DAC when you're bored again, lol. I think you should. Also an answering machine.
  8. So what does the O2 do to the DT48A? Isn't the signature neutral on the O2? Is it just cold and lifeless? If it's that then it should be great for the A.imo unless the O2 is flawed.
  9. I asked someone to make that with 2 pieces hi-grsde 120 ohms resistors soldered in series of the 1/4 " female adapter and added a 1 foot length of cable terminated with a 1/4 " male. You could make it yourself if you can get the mayeriials and a solder kit. It was done in an electrical store actually, cost me like US$25
  10. You will probably need the 120 impedance adapter with that O2.
  11. This i suppose, can be a tell tale on the amp, what do you think? I think that is because the amp is neutral.
  12. So Dale, would it be safe to say that the O2 is capable of driving high impedance HP well? How about the harder to drive low impedance cans? i'm really thinking of getting this as a portable.
  13. Well somebody has been busy with his Mission Objective2, lol. So when is the group buy?
  14. Post the link here once you're done, too bad about the Nagras, my Nagras sound well extremely good
  15. Wow, great line up there, so did you manage the Nagra that was on sale?

  17. Hey Bro Alamakazam, I agree but I think the little dot is worth keeping, he hasn't stated which pair of headphones he is driving. OT; You still have IE8 as your portable, lol. update IE80 bro. edit, lol his gear list Sennheiser HD438, Sennheiser HD555, Etymotic HF5, Grado SR60i Litle Dot 2 is more than enough bro.
  18. Should Start from 30 for JJ (china military standard), New Old Stock of course will be high. What happened to the LD original tubes? Were they EH 6922? Also with tube rolling, you need to let them settle or burn in, check and adjust your bias so it does not clip (resonate as with tubes) at normal listening volume.
  19. Tubes are available at Peoples Park Centre (next to Subordinate Court) basement called Larry, another place to check out is Burlington Square, there are 2 shops there. Advice on tubes signatures I think they can help much better.
  20. Most Beyer sources, don't even have this on their list, lol. Yeah they are the best, the best i ever had !!
  21. The only Skullcandy Headphones worthy are the MixMasterMike, lousy headband though, the Aviators are 2nd but have a single tone bass. The DT48A wins over all, just can't get them in any Headphones Store, Dale you did order your pair didn't you? Headphones stores mostly market consumer grade sub quality headphones, rarely true Audiophile equipment. The DT48A is a precision and professional instrument, the A denotes Audiometric class.
  22. I'd recommend a DT48A with E version ear pads over even the Grado RS1, more detailed and no distortion. doesn't sound closed in even though its a closed can due to it's transparency. Headstage is true as in the recording, no gimmicks, just accurate.
