  1. Oh my, this you need a neighbours help, you need to confirm that it is the inherent source of your building before calling in the power company, that is you have done your groundwork to complain with proof. The transformer only helps to smoothen out spikes, for equipment that go on off, this smoothening reduces the sudden increase of current and the electrical draw which also speeds up your meter.
  2. That is how electrical engineers close in on the problem like earth fault, by turning off zones one by one.
  3. listened to the Harbeth at the recent ISSE, well they were the best sounding at the show imho. Listen more, I'm not even letting one day pass by without music, be it through my 9x2 full range drivers with incorporated subs for precision sub bass or from my headphone collection.
  4. Try to isolate the problem by firat unplugging the equipment in your house one by one, especially the AirCon, PC, TV any thing that might be electronic, possibly a grounded equipment, turn off the lights too if you need, turn them back on if it isn't causing the interference. If all that fails, you could try from a neighbour's house in that same area, If that also happens give a call to the Power Supply company and see if they could take a look.
  5. I think he is asking which IEMs to try and not the whole lot. For myself i would go for the Vsonics GR07 in that price range. See the links below. Review GR07 Gro7 Appreciation The X10 doesn't have audiophile qualities, its an overhyped bass, very inner ear, overpriced and fragile pair of IEMs. imho.
  6. Yes it does go deeper, but it then brings about the question of realistic levels in terms of decibels in the sub bass region, as with the Stax, bass representation isn't realistic at all, If the set at ISSE isn't burned in yet, then we should adjourn for another audition. I don't find much of an improvement that is worth that extra few hundreds imho.
  7. Bro, really no point upgrading then, the extra bassiness will add headaches if you plan to listen to them for long periods.
  8. The LCD3 is even more bassier, I dont find the LCD1/2/3 enjoyable and for that price tag for coloured, I prefer even my YH1 over them, the Fostex is extremely worth the price. Headphones that are deskbound is also a minus point in my books. If you have more exposure to other headphones, you won't be looking at the LCD at all. May I know which headphones you are currently upgrading from?
  9. I have to agree 100% that the DT48A matched with new DT48E model ear pads are the best combination, the older models are out of the question even though they sound as good or some even better cannot come into this equation as they are off the production, IMHO they sound better than electrostatics, they are not dead sounding, they exude life. Much more realistic than any can i've ever tried, that is why I own 4 now, even the legendary Nagra DT48S.
  10. With that being said about the HD800, the best kept secrets are kept at the Beyer and Grado house and those who appreciate them, All I can add is that the best headphones do not come with a huge price tag as most "Audiophiles" tend to think.
  11. LOL, Same here with me Dale, 2 nights straight already since i put the new ear pads on the DT48A. Pure poison. It gets worse when I listen to Southern Point, almost feel like going in a spin, so much details so little time, brain working overtime...
  12. Hehehe, well it will be changed once he realizes the mistake, lol
  13. Which part by Marcus? I remembered that its wholly yours.
  14. The guys here have no idea what the J-Sta is, I'm keeping it only at Headphiles for the moment.
  15. I've asked Beyerdynamic Singapore about the DT48 and they said they don't carry them, lol. Not for consumers, so what are we Dale? The DT48 is better than their T1, rofl.
  16. I'm trying to help relive his enthusiasm for music appreciation, kids nowadays will not bother much as they are constantly glued to the PC, PS3, Xbox360 or the TV, food is served and eaten in front of the TV, lol
  17. For myself, I also want to play my speakers, but I get home late or i'm out of the country, so i designate the weekends for that activity and it seems to make me appreciate it better, as for daily use even at work during breaks, I use headphones full-size or IEMs, and they go with me while i'm overseas too. So Bro, don't despair, try getting a more portable headphone, if you can wait for the Phillips Fidelio L1, check the youtube, they are my next target.
  18. Ok Bro, I was thinking its during your off time. A job is a job. Just maybe you should change your headphones to one that can take calls.
  19. I play the music from the laptop while i sleep and use the online alarm clock, called kukuklok. The trick is to lower the volume of your player but put the laptop's volume at max, that will surely wake even the dead, lol
  20. Well said, thats why I sleep with my headphones on too, lol
