  1. Haha! So sorry to Zeph too. I long intended to use Tamiya Black paint. Of course, i have intended to do more than that. I'm intending to use putty for ... , then 2 layers of Black paint job, compound the surface, add decal then finally clear coat, polish with wax to shine.
  2. Then you shall print your nick and name in BIG in front of your chest. Then fellow forumers will not have to ask you for your identity. They will know who you are without having to start a conversation. Not very nice isn't it? Top-Gun's idea is to promote social interaction off the wire. And i know of quite a few forumers who would like to keep low profile and just to be known as Friends. I think "Optional" would be a good thing. But I'm not sure if this will complicates the shirt orders within the community or with the factory.
  3. Guys! It has a proper name : Audiclean Ear Cleansing Wash. Not the "Earwax Splasher" by Top-Gun. where did the word splasher came about? Haha! http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=5733 Personally i do believe in run-in. Some changes can be observed but however, don't expect it to perform miracles for you. You are likely to observe the tones tighten up, soundstage open up. Some may experience little forwardness or step back of the soundstage after short hours of run in. Anyway, IEMs do not need long running-in hours like headphones. I think 3 or 4 hours at moderate volume is sufficient for final impressions.
  4. Top-Gun, wah biang! I think for hygiene purpose, better now. Lol! Get one for yourself? It worth every penny you spend for it. If you can't find from Guardian, let me know, i will purchase it off the stores for you. (You will pay for it of course! )
  5. How much difference would one expect the sound signature to change after burning in? Let's say a 10% on the best you could acheive. (Take in mind, a 10% is a big change.) I have heard several IEMs unburn-in and burned-in, the sound signature before and after burning-in session could be related. I audited with a contemporary rock/pop title, clean introduction and verses, brought to 'Overdrive' at the chorus. Note : Overdrive is not similar to Distortion. The introduction of the track was smooth and well-bodied. However, when the track goes up to 'Overdrive' at the chorus, the vocals was a K.O. To have a feeling of my description, simply select a comtemporary title with rhythmic beats. Set the EQ of player on flat, then raise the 500 and 1kHz to its 75% or +6 dB.
  6. Thanks koolz for letting me and Ahdui have a listen from your newly bought IM716. Really appreciated your kind offer. theory_87, i think i should disagree with the fact you said IM716 was close to a ER4. To me, it was never ever close to a ER4. I tried amp/unamp, HD mode/Bass mode. It is also not comparable to the UM2, Super.fi 5 Pro, ER6 etc. Nevertheless, it is good for the price.
  7. Many thanks to Zhapchit for conducting this MO.
  8. Haha.. I think you did not get the scratches from the soft CD sleeves but from the CD player. Alternatively, you may use the aluminium case and transfer the CDs into the compact CD case. It will work the same.
  9. Cool! At 130 SGD for an Ultimate Ear In-Ear. The transparent ear tip is definitely something fresh.
  10. I reminded you yesterday to personally inform Qsilver after i asked about the Lineout from you with very simple English : That_Dude : "I forgot to bring." zonalblitz : "Hm, okay. You informed him yourself." The case was not pin point at the fact you forgot to bring. It is that you did not have the courtesy to send him a SMS or simply give him a call to give your explanation. Secondly, i reminded you to do so. I think you spolit the Buyer - Seller relation between yourself and Qsilver. I utterly feel sad for you that you turned it this way.
  11. Haha.. let me share with you what I learnt from an event supervisior. He kept the massive collection of CDs and put them into the individual CD pockets. He places all these pockets into the aluminium case. He made 3 columns of partitions to organise the space properly. Finally, he alphabatically tabbed the CDs like you see in the CD shops.
  12. Another extract of the Mythology of Orpheus : Orpheus by James Hunter Orpheus was the son of Calliope and either Oeagrus or Apollo. He was the greatest musician and poet of Greek myth, whose songs could charm wild beasts and coax even rocks and trees into movement. He was one of the Argonauts, and when the Argo had to pass the island of the Sirens, it was Orpheus' music which prevented the crew from being lured to destruction. When Orpheus' wife, Eurydice, was killed by the bite of a serpent, he went down to the underworld to bring her back. His songs were so beautiful that Hades finally agreed to allow Eurydice to return to the world of the living. However, Orpheus had to meet one condition: he must not look back as he was conducting her to the surface. Just before the pair reached the upper world, Orpheus looked back, and Eurydice slipped back into the netherworld once again. Orpheus was inconsolable at this second loss of his wife. He spurned the company of women and kept apart from ordinary human activities. A group of Ciconian Maenads, female devotees of Dionysus, came upon him one day as he sat singing beneath a tree. They attacked him, throwing rocks, branches, and anything else that came to hand. However, Orpheus' music was so beautiful that it charmed even inanimate objects, and the missiles refused to strike him. Finally, the Maenads' attacked him with their own hands, and tore him to pieces. Orpheus' head floated down the river, still singing, and came to rest on the isle of Lesbos. - Encyclopedia Mythica http://www.pantheon.org/articles/o/orpheus.html created on 03 March 1997; last modified on 26 May 1999
  13. This chap got to learn R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and C.O.U.R.T.E.S.E.Y. As far i have known from many people and from myself, you have not respected these 2 thumb of rule well. Quite a number of us know about the case of the iPod Lineout. We know what you said to Qsilver for the reason for the temp-loan. However, i don't get the logic of taking a 'long-term' temp-loan from Qsilver when you are able to order KSC75(s) in the Classifieds. Simply no excuse for you to get a MS-1 or other headphones when you have not settle your debt. Some of the fellow forumers have hinted or reminded you to take this matter seriously. Qsilver was even kind enough to give a grace period of time for you to return the iPod Lineout. DO NOT TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. Time to tune up your attitude or else you will not get ANY. Message : Do not judge a person by their equipment or knowledge of the audio field. The forum community certainly would like to see the passion, positive attitude and good personality.
  14. Designer pouches? If you have a budget at about 60 dollars, you can actually visit this leather shop in Heeren (not Fossil) to have the leather pouch custom-made. (As told by my friend) However, if you are refering to the string opening pouches, you might want to look into handphone pouches. They do come in different sizes and they might have the right size for your Zen Vision. I suggest you take a look at the leather in The Heerens, it it does not suit your taste, then head to the 77th Street on the top floor.
  15. Qsilver, did you just airbrush this yourself? Just kidding. Amazing how this world of IEM can be. Some started out as opaque, turning translucent. But Westone is going opaque black! It looks good! However the paint job on the back is pretty rough.
  16. When it came to singing, no-one could match the skills of Orpheus in Greek Mythology. His voice could charm wild animals, and even trees and inanimate sontes are said to been moved by the magic of his song. In the same way, Sennheiser's Orpheus system is bound to enchant you too. The unique combination of a valve amplifier and electrostatic headphone results in pure unadulterated sound with incredile transparency. The listening pleasure delivered by the strictly limited edition Orpheus is unrivalled. - Sennheiser, 2001
  17. Haha! Maybe you could provide a rough sketch of the tool?
  18. You mean the cone shape filing tool fixed onto the hand drill? You can find them in hardware stores and Home Fix.
  19. Haha! I'm pretty sure the owner bought it for more than 15K. Anyway, i read it online about a year ago that an Orpheus set was auctioned for USD $25,000. Whatever it is, hail the King~!
  20. Nice cue there! Enjoi~! It's harder to play with the new cue? Lol! For pool cues, they are usually easier to use than market ones.
  21. ^ I second that for foam tips. Highly recommended.
  22. Haha! I suppose that Chinese book has got nothing to do with the 'transformer' yea?
  23. Sony 888 is a earphone, not IEM so i can't compare. But it should not feel like wearing a triflange which goes pretty deep. How about going to Jaben or Stereo Electronics for help?
