  1. But then it will lose it's elite status, which is part of Stax's image. I can't believe they sold the company for a mere 1.5-2 mil US$.
  2. Very ex. The good thing is that he can make it from any wood u want.
  3. Someone on another forum translated an article saying that Edifier will continue all the production in Japan, so they're not moving anything to China.

  5. Well like I said, whichever is more convenient and as long as price is reasonable, then I will choose that option. Since the Grados are now my brother's I'll have to get a second opinion also. but I won't be ordering woodies soon though.
  6. Hey man. Do you have an email for contact purposes? I'm not going to be ordering woodies atm, but if I do I wanna make sure I can find you. $100ish for everything seems like a good asking price. I saw someone in a head-fi thread pointing me to headphile, but I can't remember the thread name. It was in Kramer's mod thread or sumthin. Thanks.
  7. I guess it's just sound preference. I thought my SR60 sounded better with my little dot II+ than it did with a neutral source, like the Clip+. It sounded a little "weightier" than with my Clip+. If I do decide to buy another amp in the future, it'll probably be a tube amp also.
  8. My hp's specs are 24 ohms, 112dB, and the Clip+ can drive to high volume and I personally don't hear any difference between the Clip+ and E7. I think most comparisons between amps in sighted test is biased. A blind test like this > http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showt...?t=54879&page=2 may produce fairer results.
  9. if only NP's ME workshop allows students to use the CNC machine ..
  10. I've given my Grado to my younger bro, but yea if you decide to go through with it, keep me updated. I drew some of my own Grado cups in Wildfire (dno if I still have it) and some replicas of the wooden cups sold by Cabillas.

what is the driver enclosure made of? Looks like not enough damping material... a lot of resonances, might lead to boomy sound. Hmm..
  12. After searching through a number of threads in another forum, I found one saying that the filipino guys over at headphiles, org make good and relatively cheaper woodies. But I can't seem to create an acc there. Good news is I have a replacement for my current plastic cups, which is the non-i version. Hopefully it's easier to take off the plastic button in the middle. Still looking around for Grado SR125/225/325 drivers and headband.. hm.
  13. I don't have the skills to diy wood (yet) but I may give it a try... The wood and machine shops in yellow pages also only seem to make things in large numbers, piping, etc so I don't think it's a wise idea.
  14. I don't have much use for those, but thanks for the offer. Priority now is to get non-i version plastic, aluminium or wood cups Edit: Are there any shops that does custom woodwork?
  15. Hi, I'm quite new to sgheadphones but I notice a few familiar names... Anyways, I am going to be upgrading my Grado SR60 headphones but I need to source for the "parts" locally since I don't really like buying from overseas unless it is completely necessary. Things I need: 1. 2 used Grado plastic non-i version cup or aluminium/wood cups. 2. 1 new leather head band 3. recable 4. 2 new Magnum drivers or partially liberated used SR125/225 drivers So if anyone knows anyone who is willing to part with their Grado spare parts, shoot me a pm or reply to this thread. I can't create a wtb/wts thread since I'm new but if this also considered as one, sry Cheers,
