  1. does this mean that the setup is now a kind of hybrid system? can u actually hear the "goodness" from the tubes though the solid state amp?
  2. D70 E1 so hard to choose thanks blues
  3. i bought those speakers about 10yrs about i think they cost $80 a pair, i saw a pair of cheap speakers in Hung Bros $45
  4. i was thinking of building my own amp to drive the speakers, using DIY amplifier kits... but the cost of the transformer this size and the casing alone would hav cost more then this amp, there would also be cost for other parts, heatsink...volume pot...components...its just not worth the trouble since the new amp cost less then $100 pic of the KLH speaker on my wall
  5. update : i finally got an amp to drive the speakers its actually a mixer/Karaoke amp from Scandyna model SA-9000, bought from Hung Bros, i was actually looking a the Yamaha micro hifi that they are clearing stock, though the yamaha piano craft series looks better...it was beyond my budget the Scandyna amp is rated 4 to 8 ohms 80w, 2 inputs + 2 mic inputs with tone controls sound wise i think the speaker sound better driven by the amp then by the sony micro hifi here's a shot of my humble speaker setup, with the Sony micro hifi as the source, i'm slowly taking the Sony out of the setup. cost of the new amp : $90
  6. how big a hole it the whole thing burn your wallet N@Z the thing below the SB800...its a stand for the flash?
  7. any shots of the D70 itself N@Z i'm still waiting to see if the price for the E1 drops any further
  8. so N@Z u got the D70 before me i hav tried the new Olympus E300...but it feels small, even though its has a very solid built, i still prefer the D70's grip over the new E300
  9. 1gb of DDR ram Dual channel should be more then enough...i would also go with a slightly lower processor speed (maybe 2.8ghz) and spend the extra money on a DVD writer or 19" LCD or both LCD monitors & DVD writers are getting really cheap now in SLS, not sure how the price is in Brunei. Benq 16X dual layer DVD writer now is $129, the savings from 3.0Ghz to 2.8Ghz should cover for the DVD-RW
  10. i hav not been shooting much lately...guess i'll also try one of those "pro" shots i agree with Qoo...N@Z's sound card for his new PC has to be more expensive then the PC itself...this way he can work better on the PC cause he won't be listening to crappy sound from cheapo soundcards tube USB sounds good enough
  11. $200 after discount for the Seiko 5
  12. this really is a very fast mouse i had to reduce the sensitivity all the way down to 1 to get used to the speed of the movement, even at 1 its still faster then my Microsoft mouse i didn't actually buy this mouse for its speed but rather more for its size i find most mouse to be small & uncomfortable, the Razer is not a mouse for people with small hands, the buttons are huge and the body is longer then other normal mouse u can also see me in the picute below
  13. the new Razer Diamondback mouse specs on the box : 6400+ frames per second 5.8 megapixels per second 40 inches per second - high speed motion detection 7 bottons - independently programmable color - chameleon green soft carry case for transport
  14. so who's going to be the first guinea pig
  15. is it possible to put 2 adaptors in series to increase the total output voltage? if possible then 2 pcs of 24v adaptors will giv 48v to charge the batts
  16. the MRT & Barney amps from aaa they look as good as the other, did not realise how long the PPA clone was until picture here with the jujubes tin
  17. Megadeth its been so long since i was listening to heavy metal stuff...hope i can still spell METALLICA correctly
  18. here's the link to the japanese site this is the main page, there's also a few other new headphones in there Audio Technica this one is the product page for the D1000 ATH-D1000
  19. saw this in the AT website, i think its a headphone with built in DAC, its all in Japanese anyone can confirm? looks very interesting from the drawing, it seem that the input cable to the headphone is actually an optical cable
  20. i think the words are a little too "strong" makes it sound like stuff that a heavy metal band would write..."dogs of war" "lights of thor" "tormented souls" i hear these words from bands like Manowar...Megadepth...Slayer & Danzig
  21. a lot of these guys work on commissions, which is why most will not entertain auditions cause it will take too long and they lose sales. Merdeka has a kind of audition room in the shop, but those stuff looks like they range in the 4-5 digit price. i think the trick is to look for those older sales person, who may be more senior & less impatience more chance of getting an audition for the cheaper players. i only know the people there by their face, and they know me the same way cause we see each other almost everyday but we don't know each other by names
  22. feels like heavy metal stuff is that what u are writing?
  23. i'll second that i was also using a similar setup (Sony micro hifi CMT-ex1) before upgrading to a Denon 685, the improvement was a big step, much better then i expected, hope this is useful to you
