  1. How about solid states? Is there a need for headphones to be removed before powering on and off?
  2. for the rolling stones sacd, i read somewhere that it is not listed as a sacd. not even on the case. so the only way is to try out on a sacd player
  3. One question, are all of pink floyd's album well remastered? DSOTM is pretty good. Remastered in 1992. Beatles CD on the other hand sounds sh*tty.
  4. Recently I listened to one of their albums The Wall and to say the least, they are genius! Tried Meddle too and its not too bad either. However I had Dark Side of the Moon for quite sometime already but I don't get it. Seems like another album with weird sounds incoporated into the music. Everyone says that Dark side is their best album but I don't quite agree yet. If you haven't heard of pink floyd before, its time to check them out.
  5. Where is the Radio Junction at somerset? Is it a sony shop? Or I can ask any sony shop? Radio Junction is an official Sony dealer and a point for dropping of spoilt stuff for collection by Sony. There are other points too. It's in the highest storey of Emerald Building i think. The one with the big TV opp somerset mrt.
  6. I did ask Radio Junction at somerset about repairing of the 868. He said it might cost more the the earphones itself ($40). But considering the cost of the 888, it may be worth the money.
  7. nah. the 888 are super sensitive. Just don try to blast them when you got it new. One of my 868 earbuds has the left channel soundless but that was after I used them for 2-3 years. It just didn't work one fine day. It was fine the previous.
  8. Regarding the braided cables used by JMT, they are Home Grown Audio. http://www.homegrownaudio.com/ Any place to get them in singapore? And what cables are good for DIY? Any shop that makes cables based on the parts you choose? Don't have a soldering iron so I can't do it myself.
  9. yeap I tried the OBH 11 via a panasonic discman and a AKG 501. Had to turn it to almost max before reaching a comfortable volume. I think Sony discman line outs are slightly louder than panasonic ones. Not really sure on this though. Haven't had a sony discman for years.
  10. where is it in toa payoh? In the bus terminal building itself?
  11. I think hung brothers has them. But i got mine at People's Audio in People's Park. Can't remember how much though. Between $200 and $250.
  12. antness said 8 march? so should reach singapore by 15 right?
  13. Check out head-fi's Mall Fi section. Antness has a pre order promotion for the new V2. ends yesterday though. I paid through money order/bank draft. No credit card or paypal might be better.
  14. got the 'legendary' sony r50 MD recorder at cash converters too @ $139. Not exactly cheap like the 515 but it's worth it considering the recorder is near mint.
  15. hehe just hope that antness Gilmore V2 i ordered won't have such problems. I definitely will be opening it up to check for the right voltage for the ps before powering it up. Once bitten (not me though), twice shy.
