ok. i am not trying to be offensive and people just need some logic to it. ok. let me ask this basic, is the souce (sound) from compress files is better than cdp. At the moment i am also using my headphone from non-pc sourec while surfing.

Red Ryder: Have you try my suggestion. or your receiver can not be made like as 'power amp' is it?.

The front flip switch is only for switching the cayin from either as head-amp or pre-amp. if cayin is use for pre-amp the the it must be switch to 'on' position.

i am skeptical of the need of a pc needing a very good sound re-production. Anybody can tell the benefit. As at the moment to me , it just like a waste of your money.

i use HA-1A as a pre-amp and use my MC cormack power drive DNA1 as the power amp and the sound is warmer than my solid stae pre-amp MC Cormack. I never use tube before so i can not really compare if the sound is as warm as a tube should be. On the subject of spliting the cdp as a source to the HA-1A and the receiver, well i use my cd tranport as folows; the co-axial output to one DAC feeding my HA-1A and optic output to another DAc feeding my RA1. May be Red ryder canuse the same setup if permits.

Don't understand why. When i was there, i don't really fancy going to the bridge but now when not there i want to go to the bridge. I love my years in England, eventhough always broke.

i have listen to a copy/burn cd and the comparing the sound with the original. i lost the headroom on the burn cd. its just ain't the same. My friend gave me another burn cd and i don't have the spirit to listen to the sound of it. All i am saying, is it worthed to listen to a burn cd. its like a 'pirated' cd quality.

looking at the pics that remind me of my visit to london. funny though when i was there dont like to go to the places in the pics.

yes it is 'original sound track'. This is normaly the track / music used in a particular movie. About Titanic ost, its quite romantic-sad-emotional tracks.

there is more to it rather than just simply saying it is the amplification (talking about tube amp here) and the source(talking about hdcd here). How about the in between these two i.e DAC , interconnects, power cord and not the least equipment support (racks/shoes). These aslo contribute to the overall end sound results. I would rather say the system has to be look at as an overall package. This is because we don't want to get a system whereby the source is good but the others are not being considered well.

i bought quite recently the ost 'the last samurai'. the music is nice. hough i like the ost 'heaven and earth' by kitaro. this is great. i have listen to it don't know how many times and still it sound great.

Northern Oak I see that you are using the same headd amp as mine. I am stil using the original tube and i am thinking to replace it with a may be better tubes. well its trail and error stuff. Charismatic Thanks
