Anybody seen any 2.5mm stereo plugs around?

note these are 2.5mm not the 3.5mm (1/8") ones we usually see.

tried searching RScomponents,but they only have the mono ones..

Saw before at SLT, hunt around and you'll be sure to find them

HP890 cable I suppose. Or HD590's... Either way, every single sub-mini plug you find out there will not fit the latter without modifications or junking the barrel. You could try soldering the wires on and then casting the piece in resin. Thereafter, you file and/ or sand down the new "barrel" to shape.
