What amp do you guys liked with Grado cans?

Could grado cans users tell me what amps they liked/use with their grados and how does the experience differs from that with a RA-1 (be it original or copy)?

Well I quite like the grado with the corda lines(out of 120 ohm)

I depends on what you want less out of the Grado headphone. If you want less brightness then even the humble Creeks sound quite nice. The Grado Clone would be better as you could swap op-amps. The Corda fare quite well as well (esp out of the 120 ohm jack). Gilmore is fine (careful cable matching becomes if you don't wish it to sound too bright - amp and headphone). Stay away from X-Cans EarMax. EarMax pro is okay (a bit too lush for me). Hope this helps. The MicroZotl is quite a good solid match as well as the RKV with imp.

I was hoping for more on diy amps though!

 

My current cd player coupled with the grado cans is slightly bright and I am irritated only on certain albums. Anyway the RA-1 is SO cheap if i find a better amp (be it diy or commercial) i can always give it to my sr60 wearing housemate.
