Welcome augustineRS,

I've tried it out on a Creative card reader type mp3 player. It sounded pretty good considering, so I assume on the current (read: better) players it should sound even better. One of the KSC35's forte is sounding like bigger headphones & good straight out of the headphone out. Amped (& with modded earpad - cut a 20 cent hole in the center) it will sound more balanced (not just bass heavy).

If you want to get one real quick try out the KSC50, KSC55 or PortaPros which is the closest to it. The Koss will blow away the MX400!

I agree.

ksc-35(as like porta pros, ksc-50, ksc-55) all soud like big cans. They will blow away the senn mx400/500 ! biggrin.gif

S/Porta Pro sound heavier in the bass than the KSC35... and the KSC50, imo just sounds lifeless in comparison...

The KSC-35 holds its head high compared to the rest of the line-up for relative neutrality and musicality... They start off sounding really dark and recessed, but give them time to burn in, and for your ears to adjust to their darker nature, and they'll reward you with a sound that really shouldn't exist for their small cost!

Played less than 24 hours using my MD. (still waiting for Vulpix dry.giftongue.gif )

I like it because:

Heat does not build up and it is not an ear phone.

Easy to drive (my MD have 2 output phone jack)

Sounded like my HD600 with less detail and slightly more bass.

One word.

Sennheiser MX400/MX500/PX100 may be for you if you are against Sony/Panasonic.

aiwa v743 earbuds. Perhaps you can try it out. If it is not right for you, and you get an MX500, its still within your budget (2 buds add up) biggrin.gif

But yeah, KSC50/55 should be wiser choices.
