Loky 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 You know how those Sony headphone earpads have this thin plasticky material that simulates real leather? It's crackin up on my V7 headphones! At least the foam inside is still intact. I am thinking of covering the entire pad with some kind of cloth, velour, velvet or whatever. The questions are: what materials have any of you guys tried, if any? I ain't good at sewing, so how does one cut the material and sew it? Any advice appreciated! Loky 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 How about trying to get replacement earpads from http://www.sony.com.sg ? I have replaced once before, at high price, and the darn thing still rots. I ain't gonna replace something that keeps rotting away. Shame on Sony.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 If the V7's driver is similar to the V6/7506 then the Beyer DT250 velour pads should be a better option plus it is more comfortable. One caveat, it may change the sound slightly.
Q00 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Do you have pictures of the v7?.... somebody once posted that he bought a v7 in germany on ebay and it looked very much like a v6/7506 so maybe the pads could fit?
Barradio 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 V6/7506 and V7 are the same size, I have V6 and V7 and also the V7506 before. If you want comfortable go for the Beyer and for slightly more bass/details go for the original Sony pads. Beyer pads can get from Hung Brother.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 How much do they cost Barradio? I might need to get spares for my DT250.

Barradio 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2003 more bass go with the sony pads? i thought that with the bayer mod there would be more bass? Sony pads made of "simulates leather" have better seal than the Beyer pads made of velour.
