Mackie 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 If U experience a real difference in track length similar to playing a certain LP on different turntables, N@Z is right on the money. However, do note that tempo may also be affected by a late recovery of lower mids too. The longer the time taken for it to decay, parts of the mids-highs that followed suit will be masked, thus, resulting in a perception of slow transitional change. Rameish 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 one pair of V-T231 Ken Rad and one pair of Telefunken ECC801S (grey plate 3 mica USA made no ). The Telefunken is slightly smoother at the highs than the sylvania GB 6201. US made Telefunken???? Err looks like you got a washed bottle (ie fake). 801s is Telefunken top graded tube. Go to raretubes.com you'll see lotsa pics. of Telefunken. Speed is a lay person them to describe the ablity/inability of the either the amplifier or transducer to physically move fast enough (slow) or become hyper (fast). When the transducer lags behind this results in different notes overlapping. There is a certain overlap that is musical. Beyond which it becomes mushy or slow.
