then I consider myself lucky choosing not to build millet

Nothing unusual about parts not being able to find. My ppa most of the stuff are imported by farnell and shipped in from USA

just finished testing the hybrid amp today. sounds good, quite a warm sound from the tube though i would love it to be warmer..:-)

anyway, my problem now is to try to eliminate the slight soft hum from my variable power supply. does anyone has any suggestions to remove the hum?

see if any power carrying line crosses the tube etc. try to isolate as far as possible cuz the hum you're hearing is probably a 50-60 ac hum that's common with tube amps.

tubes are at times microphonic and pick up these unwanted freqs..

else add probably 50-100 ohms to the output may help reduce hum too.

same here

I've got my SOHA up and running, however there's this hum

quite irritating.

for the supply, already using LM 317 and LM337 for the op-amp

trafo has been put around 6in away. dang dunno wat's wrong

hmm, maybe shield the trafo away using alu foil?
