AV98's has a very unique house/apartment. It's an RFI nightmare lol frankly.

But but..but....okay lah, its true. I've had no problems with kimber interconnects though. Just the blasted Grado extension cable.

Tried it very quickly soon after i burnt in the Beyer (120 hours +). Felt dropped in SQ (less clarity/"muddy"). Stopped using it after that.

I can't decide if it's the excessive length (5m) or the cable itself that deteriorates sound quality to an audible degree (to my ears). It sorta sound "phasey" or in laymen's term, a bit echoic to me.

 

I use a 3m Canare L2T2S with much better results.

I have tried it in regards to home theater application, and only slight difference in sq, being with the extension it sounded less forward. Note I don't have picky or golden ears, so not 'trained' to listen to differences!

 

Perhaps with critical listening it would degrade the sq further...likelyhood because of the length and gauge of the extension cable.

i just got myself 3 metres of belden and the neutrik jacks.. probably this weekend gonna make an extension to see how it goes..

 

if it goes well.. probably use the remaining 1 metre to replace the damaged cable of my dt880
