Goodbye to a good and faithful set of headphones

Finally trashed my Senns HD450. It's about 20 years old and the wires were gone. I replaced the cable using the original connectors but after about 1 year, the connector cracked on one side where it was not protected by heat-shrink.

 

Being the smart aleck I am, I bought more heat shrink and when I heated the tube to shrink it, the connector melted out of shape....

 

So, if you value your old Senns, don't abuse it like I did.

Can buy replacement cable from Senn Asia? I think they have spare parts for their old headphones. Even 414 cable and pads also have. Email them for pricing before you go down. Their location a little out of the way.

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately my maid emptied the waste basket where I threwed it in disgust last night. So it is history...
