If not, are you willing to upgrade the other bits and pieces too?

From what I've read the MS-Pro/RS-1 are pretty different from the GS-1K, and some actually prefer the former to the latter. In that sense, the GS-1K is not "better" per se, and may not be the most ideal for you.

 

One caveat worth bearing in mind: more expensive doesn't necessarily equate to better sound.

for ms pro no porb can go find uncle wilson but unfortunately i might have some trouble for the rs-1 and gs1k,the music by design guys kinda particular for the person who wanna try their product,not to mention can not as enjoyable like in uncle wilson shop

for outdoor i usually use my um2 with custome earmould or ms-1 with customs

 

while at home ill use ms2-1 or beyer 770.

You need proper amplification then. And really, a proper CD player would do the higher end grado models more justice than a mp3 player can.

 

If you're running it off the iaudio straight, you're better off with a sr60 or MS-1, or a SR-125 tops.

im using pa2v2 as amp and thinking to get supermacro 4 in the near future.

 

i nvr tried running from the source itself since i got my amp,sounds cant compare n anti lousy quality now
