imjustakid 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 hi guys, i just joined like 5 minutes ago! anyway, i'll be direct. My In-ear 15 bucks earphones just broke and since i've been saving up, i wanna get a good earpiece. anyway, i went down to Stero at CWP today around 4.40. (very good salespeople! *two thumbs up*) I took a look at the new ATH-SQ5 from Audio Technica. it seemed to improve the music quality that my iPod produced, somehow. however, the SQ5 did not give me the isolation i wanted. i was also introduced to the ES7 and some other can (cant rmb model) my question now is, is it better to get cans or earphones (in ear) also, any recommendations of both? my budget's 120 dollars. *decent isolation and good sound quality*
blackmouth0 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 hmmmm, want extra bass? if you gg for a good bass one, why not tried the creative 630? give a decent bass. if gg for sound quality, why not consider SCL 2 by shure ?
windrider 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) inears give better isolation and are more convenient to carry around. If you can, try up-ing ur budget abit to get some mid hi-fi level in ears like westone um2 or Sleek audio sa6. if you dont mind buying online theres also RE1 for only 200sg including shipping. http://www.head-direct.com/products.php?c=1 Edited May 26, 2008 by windrider

imjustakid 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 well, what do you guys think of headphones? the ES7 is way off my budget =/ my mum wont let me spend more than 120 bucks T_T also, i've read through the headphone amps thread but i still don quite understand. do i need an amp to produce better sound quality? does it help to get an amp with a good headphone / earphone? ZhiX 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 someone is selling a 2nd hand es7 near your budget at Jaben forums.
windrider 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 an amp is definitely out of the question if u only have 120 bucks. if u cant raise ur budget um2/SA6 is out of the question too. RE1 maybe but still unlikely. I would still recommend iem, not a big fan of using headphones outside as to me even closed phones dont really offer enough isolation for buses and trains. I think you should try to get a used pair of phones or iems to get the most bang for your buck at that price, if you dont mind 2nd hand iem or headphone and dont mind taking abit more time to hunt for an offer.
