Waiting too Resistance is futile! might be..... let c end of the year if got fat bonus so that i can afford get both tube balanced amp preamp with solid state balanced amp together and c it can do wonders to K1000? kidult 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2009 How is it compared to the Yamamoto? you mean K1000 with Yama ?? i used K1000 on SPL Phonitor. i need to increase the vol to 3.00pm and above then i heard the dynamic ya hoh, kds5000 can try on Yama. All I can say it was very good but for my kind of music might be a little off. (telling myself) now trying at comfort of my home with Kids5000 darkvoice 337....and his new HD250 se ... uber.. his mad amp is......well better keep quiet 1st .....tension tension.... and sorry to say the dv cannot come close to it's silky smooth and deep full 3d bass for the dv amp, it has plenty of power to drive the stubborn K1000 at onli 40% volume at 1st very harsh sibliances can be heard and very very sharp pain ( ouch ) highs on my ears got headache and couldnt finish 1 track .... well did some cables matching, tweaks and reshuffle the tubes for my dac.... (ahem) yup k1000 doesnt sound like any headphones...instead like Hifi speakers itself and compare to HD800, it released itself from virtually headphones ....pure musical midrange,silky highs and omg the bass ..... it has very good deep bass than hd800.....i almost cried when heard my favourite orchestral.....and female's vocals sound so real and 3d....touch my face and whispering music to my ears..... damm MUST get 1 of this baby!!!!!! kidult 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2009 glad u liked what u heard u gotta re-consider which amp to get for K1000.... if u plan to use K1000 & Stax in the future, just get a integrated Hi-Fi amp + Stax adaptor. and there u go!! can drive both K1000 & Stax and save alot of money a tube integrated amp (around $3K) should suite yr taste Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
