ical 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) well done. how many set u ordered? so can't jump to turntable liao Should be two but you backed out. Can't even afford to buy cd now. You don't know??? TT is a necessity in order to properly enjoy the chair. You need to get up and sit down again in a particular order to wear the chair correctly and coincidentally it coincides with the time of playing an LP. Why did you think Herman made the chair then when LP were the rage (I think)? That's what we all say...... I'm not listening. Kachui 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 wah...how come this thread became discussions on chairs and materialism? Heh, heh...agree with Jig that nothing last forever...it will only last till we need our next fix. Been "busy" with this since going to the HD launch...thus was late in giving my impression on this can... So... As many of you have stated, Sennheiser did a fantastic job organizing the event; the listenning room was classy, the staff were helpful and friendly; and I like the Sennheiser drink as well. And like many of you, was a bit disappointed with the amp, which I thought did not complement the HD800. The best I can say for now is that this headphone certainly has potential; comfort is great, soundstage is good, certainly much more transparent and more balanced than the HD650, but it is lacking the wow effect that I was expecting. I guess I will have to wait for a chance to audition a burned in unit with other amps.
ical 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 Nice! No wonder you're so quiet these days. I also believe that HD800 has great potential. It can definitely sound better than the launch.
uberburger101 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 I have always had the general impression that the best thing you can do for Beyers/Senns is to give them more than enough power. Everytime I hear them, they're like half-awake.
jig_sg 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 So what're you guys waiting for???? Buy buy buy..... Me? Nah, still prefer Stax! For me, the HD800 on that setup didn't do that much for me. Stax still has the best 3D sound staging I've heard so far. And also the fact that I'm flat broke...
kidult 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 I like it transparent..... definitely is a great can. but didnt wow me on others hope to audition again with a better amp ya, maybe a Zana Deux SE
sonq 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2009 I'll likely get the Woo Audio 22 balanced amp should I decide to get the 800. I'll prefer to wait for some reviews against the PS1000 though. The liquidity in the mid range on Yutiao's PS1 on her ZD still stands as the best I've heard, so I'm expecting better on the PS1000. Patrick's balanced 650 on Raptor is also another hair raising benchmark for me. What I heard on the 800 still misses the mark against these 2.
