shanling cdp can go to people's park shopping centre, look for Larry. Xindak cdp can go to Xaudio at bukit timah shopping centre, look for Swee. marantz, rotel, cambridge can go to KEC at adlephi, the sale people there are quite welcoming,especially the saleslady, don't worry.

Depends on the CDP/PCDP, some CDPs are quite picky such as Cairn and certain model of Marantz which will skip with scratchy CDs. My SA17 is quite picky while the CD6000 is more forgiving.

Are you able to inspect/test listening the HD600 that you are buying? If it's fine and no fault, it's a good buy at 230. Soundwise, it is subjective, but it's dark if you compare it with Grado and like Lekguan has mentioned, the electrostat feel that has the "out of the head" and "sound comes from nowhere and just suddenly appears" effects. HD600 has more air than HD650, while HD650 is more forward and weightier than HD600. HD600 excels in all sorts of music genre but I have heard other cans that better the HD600 in certain types of music genres. Hope this helps.

Hi Absolute0, KEC is selling the Marantz SA8400 also, price was 980 before GST about few months back. IMHO, the CD playback is quite different from a typical marantz cdp not warm but clean and detail, sounds more like Sony/Denon. The SACD playback has the marantz signature sound. Hope this helps.

I went to the Senn web site and saw from the photos, the web site have hd25(single side cable) and hd25-sp(dual side cables) but no hd25-1? They aren't looked big in the photos but I would like check with you if it's similar size to the Senn Px200. I am thinking of upgrading.

Try Marantz SA8400. It uses a new Transport, very different from the CDxxxx series and uses CS9xx7(i forgot the part number) dac chip. I nearly bought one but I settled for my current CDP later.

Charistmatic, in your opinion, does Oelbach cable improves sound quality substantially over the stock cable? I'm currently pondering on such an offer. Thanks. Currently the 650 is fixed with the mobius. I have added a number of new or semi-new items into the setup and most of the gears are still not run-in or season yet, so I am still testing out. I would take this as an opportunity to have an eqpt feedback to this forum. The oelbach that i have been using with the 600 really alters the 600 sound. The oelbach sounds more season and more "weight" than the stock cable with 650 and it doesn't alter the 650 sound. To me it improves over the 650 stock cable. Interestingly I found that 600+mobius is a better combo than 650+mobius in my setup and the 600+mobius lets me recall back what I had heard from 600+its stock cable but with multi level of improvement in various aspect(I can't explain in words, u have to try it out yourself then you would know what i mean). Thus, I m thinking of getting a replacement cable, maybe cardas, for 650 and use the mobius for 600. Comparing 650 and 600, my personal opinion is that they sounds different, they are different cans altogether. Lastly, do take my eqpt feedback sparingly, YMMV.
