    SOLD

Read that the UM1 is a actually the tweaked version of the Shure E1C. Infact, they share very similar physical appearances save for the colour of the body. Shure was actually using these drivers (of the UM1) for their E1C then. E1C is actually a step up from the E2C- then, the order of the numbering behind the "E" does not reflect the superiority. http://music1online.com/coandreofshi.html-Review of Shure earphones-Courtesy FMAsolutions. I am selling them off as i do not like the sound signature-nothing wrong with the clarity or the details but i would like more treble in my earphones ala etymolotic. Bought in January 2006 from the local distributor at Adelphi. Package for sale comes with complete original accessories(all unused n new except for a pair of long comply which i will replace with a new pair.) Include receipt n warranty from local distributor. Like-new condition given its age and careful handling from user. Basically is as good as a new package- all new and complete accessories-the earphone will be cleaned prior to transaction. 2. If i recall correctly, Original Master only has a pair of input RCAs, not output.

Currently what would be the estimated total cost per set and also the optimum number of buyers to reach the best price? Thanks
  5. Ask your girlfriend, she'll know cos it looks just like her headband. Cool! If it can act as a hair-band cum head-phone, then i think that is a winning formula if it also comes with detachable audio cables But then, of course the weight of the headphone will come into question...
  6. IMHO, I would recommend the Westone UM1 as a more suitable earphone instead of the Shure E2C even though the former retails for about $50 more than the latter. Sonic-wise, upon side-by-side comparison with the UM1, E2C has clear vocals but at the expense of the clarity of the rest of the music; the rest of the music sound muffled. Actually, i do think that the E2C is designed mainly for the vocalist to "hear" him/herself on stage when performing and not really suited for playback of music which demands reproduction over a wider frequency range. IMO, IEMs are a tricky business: they sound good and have good isolation only when used with filters of the appropriate size for the individual and that the earphone is inserted properly. Thus, the user will have to spend some time experimenting to find the configuration that best suits the individual. The rewards are its low profile and exceptional isolation(compared to headphones) when used in public places.

hehe I do agree with u on that to a certain extent. IMHO it all hinges upon whether the difference in prices here and overseas are significant. Eg, for Ety ER4 the difference is easily more than a hundred. For that , it is obvious enough me to choose buying from overseas. Although, of course, for the guy with very deep pockets, i dun think he would mind spending the extra hundred to instantly satisfy his aural crave. So is a YMMV case
  8. Pink Floyd-Dark side of the Moon (Hybrid) Surprisingly, the hybrd is only more expensive than the pure-redbook version by a few dollars.

If it were me, i would rather save up on a extra-value meal+movie=$14 and get to enjoy the Koss instantly and have a peace of mind
  10. No one's biting? Out of the original package, only the earphones are used. The accessories are all NEW. I will clean up the earphones and repackage them prior to transaction.

  12. idkfa: Lucky u living in the land of the rising sun. Jap press seems to be quite hard to get locally...
  13. OK. Will check out HMV else may just get the Hong Kong-pressed CD
  14. Where can i find the Japanese-press of Mika's "Best" album in shops in Singapore? The ones that i have come across here(Gramophone) are those "Made in Hong Kong"
  15. Are you refering to the Shure E2c earbuds? Yes. But m not sure whether they can be adapted for use with the first poster's earphone.
  16. Shure's black softies are at S$8 per pair. But not sure whether the fit would be ok for your earbuds. U can ask to try out at the shop, maybe? BTW, is at ground floor of SLS- Shure distributor(Cant miss it).
  17. Since this is a discussion forum: quite disagree. Doubt if there is a need for a power-amp equivalent for headphones My take: "pre/speaker=head-amp/headphone". This may also explain why some head-amps are also designed to be pre-amps in speaker set-up. Not always the case. In fact, purist would like a minimal of hardware in the audio reproduction chain. That is really an online knowledge base, if u have the time and effort to sieve out the information.
  18. Merry Christmas! Price is further reduced- S$100
  19. Yup I did. I used my old discman D-EJ925 which has a shared line out and optical out. Not so much of an improvment other than the abilty to control the volume. For me, i listen for the clarity of the hi-hats/cymbals at the pheripheral of the soundstage. I compared the results through the headphones-out and the line-out to the amp+headphone. The result from the line-out is a clearer and very distinct sound of the instrument. The width of the soundstage is another part i listen out for. Vocals especially sounded clearer and sometimes, it is very precise how the singer phrase the song. My gear is Sony EJ955 line-out-stock cable-PA2V2 This is all my personal opinion-YMMV.
  20. Hey dude, http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=3192-this review from the forum may be useful. Personally, i have been using the amp for a few months now. I got it used from the MAC forum. IMO, it does improve the sound from the line-out of my discman. U should give it a try as only your ears will be able to tell the difference in sound-YMMV. The improvement in sound is more from the line-out than from the headphone-out. There are a few issues that i observe with the amp: -Channel imbalance when listening at low volumes(cranky volume pot?) -MUST use rechargeables else the sound will be fuzzy.
