if you want minimal microphonics effect you could go for the ety er-4p, but then that would be out of your price reach. do you think teamdigital.net would allow you to audition??? the 4 pole connector issue is solved when you use the extension cable, but be careful not to damage the cable as you cannot repair it if you stuff it over

afaik yes... it can, but only thru the sony sonicstage2 program. also another thing is the lack of support for other computer files... all files need to be transfered thru the sonicstage2 program

you might want to look to teamdigital.net as they have a range of ipods/irivers and a couple of other products, but not sure if they are the cheapest though

dont go for the ipod mini as it is a pos imo... and if you are spending that kind of money you might as well wait for hi-md that is coming out in June (hopefully). 1gb remevable storage and easy to use, maintain.

have you looked into MiniDisc??? minidisc will start where you stopped, it has recording functions should you require the need to record on the run. and they are cheap to buy and maintain. battery life is a plus as it can also run for days (full charge), and the removable media is another advantage, so no need to estimate your requirements as buy blanks as you need to do so
