  1. Just wondering, but who does the servicing for iRiver and iAudio devices in Singapore?
  2. You can try out the superfi 5 pro at Stereo's. I'm not really a bass person, but I found the 5 Pro's bass to be very clear and well-controlled.
  3. What, people tried to plug the UMs in 'normally'?
  4. Would love to get to meet you guys in person, but I've got something on for the early part tomorrow. Probably be there only around 6pm.
  5. It *is* one ZV:M powering, what, 9 pairs? I asked the guy to turn the volume down, and all went down =)
  6. I didn't think you could plug your own source in... Anyway, I've heard before, the sample track they used, and it didn't quite sound like that. The Aurvana didn't sound as bad as I thought it would, but I've some issues with it: - higher-frequency bass sounds quite bloated - small soundstage (smaller than the e3c anyway) - isolation could be better - brass instruments sound slightly harsh, or just not quite comfortable Going to try out again tomorrow, my own source this time =)
  7. Creative is having the Aurvana up for auditions against e3c and (what I assume is) UM1, at their PC Show booth. The source is hidden though, and you can't plug your own in.
  8. Can you elaborate on this? Are you referring to the sound quality? I just noticed they're referred to as noise cancelling earphones. Feels a bit wrong.
  9. Is it possible they repackaged the OEM of Shure driver units? And I think it's single driver, not dual. Is this their strategy? Hoping to use niche products to capture a popular market?
  10. Woot, iRiver! Cheers to Stereo Now, let's hear about the prices
  11. The foamies are the small ones shown in the other thread, right? Should fit the ER6i if it fits the Shures?
  12. I haven't seen much comparison between these 2, mostly because people are inclined towards the A900. I thought they're more of non-portables, and thus the open AD might be a better choice, but apparently, this isn't the case. Can anyone comment? I tested the A500 and AD500 at Stereo, and found them quite detailed, albeit a little bright, and with fantastic soundstage.
  13. Not if it's helpful and related, but I suppose the guys here frequent head-fi anyway. What are the chances we could organise a meet-up that one [very, very nice] guy can offer to let us audition these? =P
  14. I've got a related question: What's with this 3dB bandwidth thing? Is it a measure of output deviation? Anyone can enlight?
  15. I checked up with Norman Audio. Those who want other-sized foams and flanges should indicate interest to them, 'cos they're waiting for a demand before they bring the small and large eartips in.
  16. Er, I hear the e3/e4 flexes and foams work on the ER6i as well? Anyone care to confirm?
  17. I tried it amped on a Yamaha - the bass improves slightly (as mentioned), but the vocals I was listening to sounded like it had a very rough edge. The same vocals sounded very smooth unamped on my Discman. I was listening to Corrinne May. Edit: To be more exact, the upper range sounded boosted and the percussion was brighter. Hence the 'rough edge' in the vocal (the only term I have to describe it is 脆).
  18. I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but after listening on my ER6i for about 2 weeks, I'm starting to feel they're a little flat. As in, not sounding very lively. There's no issue about their clarity though. Is this inherent to IEMs, or could the phones do with amping? Any good portable amp that I can get locally? Thanks
  19. I think I need to start begging too... Norman Audio isn't bringing in other-sized eartips until after CNY =(
  20. What, they mailed you sample tips from overseas?
  21. The products on Cresyn's webby look suspiciously like ATs. They do the OEM?
  22. Are the ER6i durable? Anyone can comment? Their wire seem so thin compared to the Shures, and it's really giving me second thoughts about buying...
  23. The CM3 can be found quite easily these days: HMV (quite ex here), Best Denki and CD-Rama... Ditto for the CM5, though less common than the CM3. Not too sure about the price though.
