  1. Actually, the Neutrik strain relief is a better one of the two. The more the cable is tugged, the tighter the grip will be on the Neutrik's relief. Soldering on the Neutrik requires some soldering paste/ fluid & a higher power soldering iron (>30W). Fufil these and soldering will be a piece of cake.
  2. Looks to be a Canare.
  3. Good for you... But.. How do you open up the cans?
  4. aye, it's a DACT CT2 attenuator in there.

    New amp?

It's kinda like a buffered cmoy. With a discrete buffer instead of an I.C.
  6. A Gilmore V2 SE is the same as in the Gilmore schematics but with a few adjustments and more extras. Eg. Usage of TL07x opamps instead of OP27/37 opamps for the servo. Multiple inputs. Slightly different resistor values for some portions.
  7. I do have a Fossil watch tin but it's not for sale. Hehe... However, I do have a small mint tin about 60mm * 50mm * 18mm in size that I can let go for a token sum ( It's those O\ZON tins in this picture:
  8. The Blue Diamond isn't so bad. But I use it for burning data CD's instead. I'd rate it just a tad under the TY discs.
  9. I'd have time to build headphone amps to order if..... You can hijack me to an 8 to 5 vocation at 3rd Guards (Bedok Camp).
  10. Well... It's up to you people to convert others into headphone freaks.. LOL. I did sorta convert one of my best friends. He bought a pair of DT431's at the time and I gave him an A47 variant (Class A) headamp. Most people don't believe in paying that much for a pair of headphones, this ain't hi-fi, ya' know. They're skeptical and nedd to hear the phones on a proper setup before they realise why you'd spend so much on the cans.
  11. Well... Other components like the caps & Opamp will still cost a fair bit. Plus labour charges.... A good volume pot is essential; Otherwise, you'll get great imbalance at lower volumes.
  12. And hopefully the Joe Grado headphones too!
  13. Low wattage soldering iron with silver solder isn't a very good idea. Getting a high wattage iron but soldering quickly would be better.
  14. I reckon a replacement cable can be made for a reasonably low cost for the HP890.
  15. Anyways, be warned that some Lite-on burners don't like the Phlathocyanine dye used in Mitsui, Kodak & Taiyo Yuden Gold media.
  16. Not too bad for the White Stripes & the Sum41 albums. Haven't listened to the Gorillaz vs. Spacemonkeys album yet. But not really my type of music.. Except maybe the White Stripes.
  17. Not elitist.. Just a wierd taste for type of sound I like. Think about how many people actually put down the HD600's & DT880's. =)
  18. I'll take it at your price. Will arrange with Rameish to help me out with the payment & shipping and all. =)
  19. Typo.. That's the title of the album: "Does this look infected?"
  20. I know I won't be on the team.. LOL!! With my wierd tastes...... ya' know the rest.
  21. Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head (Have been listening to it for quite a while) Just bought the following today: Gorillaz vs. Spacemonkeys the White Stripes - Elephant Sum41 - Does this look diseased to you?
  22. You can try a Clone PPA with 3 * EL2009's. That will be cool!
  23. Yeah.. But the Gilmore is gonna need good, clean power that don't drop in voltage. Guess SLA's can't provide that in the long term. For other amps like META's, (CH)A47's & Grado's, I guess SLA's are the way to go.

Hehehe... The one I kinda "fixed"? Must have a try at it soon. *grinz*
  25. Gilmore did actually test his power supply with oscillascopes (his 'workshop' is literally a lab.. LoL).
