  4. try not to use lighter but hair dryer/hot air gun instead cos if not careful u might burn/damage the cable insulation...

  8. maybe that's my set, collecting soon hopefully my amp.; a NOS Creek 4140S intergrated, can match these cans. It's driving my ATH AD700 nicely Merry Christmas to all.
  9. Hi NOZ is that a CD10 or CD72 u r using, great classic player.Looking for a CD10 myself.... Mod Edit Hi, since I don't want to OT the thread too far I'll answer your question here instead of making another post. It's a CD80 actually. I expect it to be at least 15 years old. I'm the second owner. Still works flawlessly. It's still in its original condition, has the original remote, manual & box!
  10. hehe...I've a pair reserved... thks
  11. Thks ,will be getting a pair from AA soon.
  12. may I enquire; does the DT880 comes in 250ohm &600ohm versions? If so what's the diff.in sound & drivability btw. them? Or ,which version should I get for home use? the DT880 on offer at AA is which version? sorry for the noob question... thks

  15. hi all tube sifus I'm using a california audio labs Alpha dac which has a tube output stage & using 2 pcs. unbranded 12AX7A tubes. I'm trying to improve the bass which I find is not well extended & a little boomy, better midrange liquidity.....I know...I know have to pay big bucks for those but if can get the 'right' tube i could save $$ for other items. I know that the ECC83 tubes r replaceable but can I use 12AU7/ECC82 tubes? How about ECC88 tubes as I have a pair of Mullards laying around? Would appreciate all comments & recommendations/prices/shops. Thks
  16. yea, got the OBH 21SE already, thks ever1.
  17. I aws also quoted the same price when I asked last month; didn't bargain cos only look see look see.It will definetely sound diff. from SR80 but u have to consider the comfort factor as well. SR80 r not known to be very comfortable for long listening. That's 1 of the reasons I didn't choose Grado but Audio technical AD700 instead.YMMV
  18. saw in 1 of the shops in G floor. good luck shopping
  19. Hung Bros got the philips hp1000, audit it than tell us how's the sound
  20. recently changed from CD780 to ATH-AD700 & find the details & highs r better. Both very comfortable & easy to drive w/o amp. But now I find more faults with cd with non perfect recordings esp. older rock albums from the 80's With the CD780, almost all cds sounded 'good'.
  21. if budget permits get the cd780 instead of cd580,significant sound upgrade IMO; cost around $100 at sls. & yeah more comfortable too
  22. sorry i can't provide more precise info. cos I'm not local but from KL just doing weekend shopping at SLS. The shop also sells numerous electricals eg. car stereo, TVs, mini compos, portables located at ground floor. regards
  23. I think u can get it around $65 at a shop in SLS ground floor as I was quoted that price last month b4 bargaining happy shopping
