  1. oh dear... someone hit it on the dot man.. ok, so the solution is, get a place in the north. Jokes aside, I think if you are experiencing the problems in more than one site, you can actually call singtel to get them to rectify the situation.
  2. Crap camera phone, but just thot it was nice enough to share. Just taken 10 mins ago.
  3. Good advert. Funny like heck.
  4. A blonde, brunette and redhead were stranded on an island 20 km from mainland. 2 days later, the redhead decided that she didn't want to wait and started to swim out to sea, heading for mainland. 1km, 2km,....and she figured she couldn't make it, had to turn back. The next day, brunette decided to try. 1km, 2km, 3km, 4km, 5km...and she figured she couldn't make it, had to turn back. The following day, blonde decided to try. 1km, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10km...and she figured she couldn't make it, had to turn back.
  5. Yep, I think my amp has that. But I am really not sure if it 100% will cause damage or not.
  6. AV98m, if you hear the 'piak', my suggestion is that you should not plug in during the off/on process. I believe the chances of it actually sustaining permanent damage is low but why risk it?
  7. oh... haha.. errr.. ok, sorry. Anyway, I haven't actually tried walking around but in the car, it's ok from anywhere in the car so I should say up to 2 metres is fine. In product brochure, it says 10 m but I doubt it will be listenable at that range. But then again, YMMV.
  8. It's from my own observation. When I use on some mini-hifi or something, there is a "piak" sound when I turn off the power supply. The Denon amp I am using cuts off the speakers and phone output before powering down. And it actually turns on the speakers and phone output 5 secs after I turn on the amp. So, I believe there is some truth to it, or why would the engineers bother with the implementation?
  9. Just a question. How to buy it? Ship? Or is there a retailer in SG getting it directly from him?
  10. Actually, even the coins have effect on the cans sonically. The coin tweak? I can't believe I actually tried it myself, but I touch my heart and say, "I can't hear a difference".
  11. Yes, there is possibility that it is region specific. Granted that in Woodlands, the population might be lower or maybe less broadband takeup, the situation might be better. But thinking about it, if the subsequent pages loads fast, it's probably not about load. My thought is still the possiblity of caching and fire-walling but someone has already proven that it's not the case.
  12. Oh wow... that's nice to hear. I probably started messing around with hifi stuff about your age as well. Shoes and handbags? Dun go there.
  13. wow! but I thought their Clie was quite sexy. Nice implementation of the Palm OS. Pity.
  14. Strange indeed. But again, I am a counter example. I am on 1500 but I dun get the problem. Anyone on ADSL having this problem?
  15. Wow. Thanks man, firefox, you just answer a question which I have had for years but never bothered to find out! cheers! Just like the question : "How do they put toothpaste into the tubes such that they come out striped consistently?"
  16. 40 mW is decent for a portable device this small. The Muvo NX (1 AAA batt) outputs only about 5-7 mW. Muvo2 outputs 30mW. Anyone knows the output for iPod?
  17. China Singer, Chen Jie Li, Lily. I think she's new. Was playing at Gramaphone at OUB center and was enchanted. Nice and smooth voice. She does covers but dun let that distract you. She's does some pretty good rendition of those. Very fresh take to some of the more familiar songs. DSD recording. Whatever that is, but recording is quite decent. Very clean. Cheena Songs hor... Song list here : http://rfs.21hifi.com/htm/03cd/h-069.htm
  18. On almost the same reasoning, you should plug out the headphones first before switching off the amp or disconnecting the source. Most modern amps wouldn't have a problem but the resultant spike in voltage might be dangerous to the wellbeing of your cans.
  19. Yep, that's true. But I wonder about the scientific reasoning behind it as well. Does the distortion's audio range usually fall out of the speaker's handling range? Thus causing the damage?
  20. You're using a Marantz CD17, I'll be content too.
  21. Sometimes, even before it gets too loud, the sound starts cracking up already cos the amp can't drive it. Maybe not even the volume.
  22. That's why I think Hung's prices a bit inconsistent. If you dun bargain, sure end up paying more.
  23. If I am not mistaken, 88.something to 107.something.
  24. You're scaring me. haha. I bet. I mean. Have you gone to a shop for 'just an audition' before, only to go back after 1 week of heavy deliberation and trying to justify by listening to your current setup and finally convincing yourself that you are missing something...
  25. When diesel burns thoroughly, it can be quite clean too. The new engines don't have those black sooty exhaust anymore. But the problem is when it's not well maintained and it doesn't burn that clean, the built up in the engine and exhaust is quick.
