  1. Opanda PhotoFilter Software Hey, try this freeware: http://www.opanda.com/en/pf/index.html It is fun, you can apply many filters to your digital photo easily
  2. Thanks Qoo! Without tripod. I very2 seldom bring tripod/monopod... Most pic I post taken without tripod. All pics above taken when I was walk around with my son near my flat. For me, I love: small camera Image stabilizer Small camera is fun, It doesn't bother you when you bring it IS help you to take sharp pic About small camera, I love my compact Olympus mju II (film), also fix lens and give very good result. But my son spoilt it recently From my experience, if you really want high quality pic from small camera, find the one without zoom lens
  3. Flower pic with ixus-i. Ixus-i is really a good camera, I think because it has a fix lens, not zoom, so the result is comparable to my G2, with better color from the digic processor. Croped and resized from the original full frame.
  4. Hi Tropical, good timing! You got 'Please Stand' message and the standing guy in the right position and composition! Well done
  5. True, timing and luck play part We are not always lucky to find good object with simple background Aaahhhh one interesting picture from the MRT series Just recentrly shot with Ixus-i, croped from the original size. Not so good though, couldn't get the catch light on the eye Cat's Eye
  6. Thanks Qoo! I also have some PS actions to make your own passport size foto in 4R paper size, PM me if any of you need it
  7. Cool! I'm still too lazy to start my PPA
  8. Sure bro! Sorry for late reply Just let me know the components and the order codes (Farnell)
  9. Try LED from the LED torchlight, it is much brighter and need higher voltage Or for extreme birghtness, use Luxeon LED Your amp will become LED torchlight with headphone amp
  10. Hi Ghost DVD listening need comfort and dynamic sounding headphone. If you don't realy neeed isolation, try Grado SR-80 - SGD 170 in Music by Design, Adelphi 2nd floor. They just got new stock yesterday
  11. Post Processing Philosophy Some people don't like digital post processing, because they said, it is not original, it is faking, or the best pic is the one that come out from the camera. Well, that's partly true for documentational fotos, but not for art. So they try to be faithfull to show the original object from the picture. If we take foto of the same object with different cameras, we will get different result. So which one is faithfull to the real object? Unfortunately none of them So even original file/pic came out from the camera is not faithfully representing the original object, so that's why we need to post process them, to make it as close as the original. That's reason for post processing documentational fotos. How about art? Well, I don't have a camera that can give me the result that I want, straight out of the camera. I want the picture to shows, what I want to express. That's another reason for post processinging digital image. So camera and image editing software is just like a tool for me to express art. To me, post processing is simply to bring out or add the "WoW" factor from/to the picture. Some people do a very heavy post processing, completely manipulate the pic into a different pic, that's fine for art
  12. Aahhh unfortunately I will be busy on 26th, otherwise I would like to join
  13. Tropical, for that angle I think you have exercise your back very well Should be much easier to take that angle with a canon G6 with flip and turn LCD Since you like portraiture, why not take closer of the expression of the people waiting for the MRT But be carefull, they might see you and complaint Tropical = Paparazo
  14. Blues, I like the first pic ! You did the post processing very well The pinkish tint looks very nice But why such a small pic, I would love to see a bigger one
  15. Thanks guys! Thanks for the clarification Heady! When I saw the flower pic by av98m, it made me recall of the pic of same type of flower I took long time ago in Botanical Garden. The curl of the petals is natural, some of them have curly petals. Not meant for comparison though, just sharing fotos Oh yea... I love portraits But most of them are my friends or family faces, so I don't really feel good to post them Maybe sometime we can go hunting for portraits in the city when I have 350D As I'm selling my EOS5 system, I still keep the EF 100mm f/2.0 for portraiture
  16. Cool! I like the first pic Tropical showing his gear Looks like the C-8080 is in idle mode. Any plan to let it go?
  17. Great you started already
  18. I definitely disagree with you... The quality of a picture has nothing to do with the price of the equipments. It is really up to the photographer, not the camera. My friend has the 1Ds, and almost never take good pictures, only reach so called 'documentational' photography. Take a look at Henri Cartier-Bresson, one most famous photographer who shot his famous photos with only pocket cameras. http://www.photo-seminars.com/Fame/bresson.htm So the chances for pocket camera and 1Ds to take bad and good photos are equal, depend on the man behind the camera So for those with low budget, never underestimate your talent, you might be the Bresson of this century
  19. Because you used a good lens Here the lens resolution is higher than the film. But there are lousy lens which resolution is less than the film. Try a lousy long zoom such as 28-300mm kind of zoom, you probably won't see resolution improvement when using ISO 400 or ISO 25 Ooohhh yeaaa, I love the discontinued Kodak Ektar 25
  20. All factors play part, but lens plays the biggest part for the image quality, including resolution, especially in film. Film can be considered as a very high megapixel CCD. So normally film resolution is higher than the lens resolution. But in low megapixel CCD, No matter high the lens resolution is, the CCD will be the limiting factor. Remember that "A camera is not better than it's lens"
  21. Russell Brown, the ultimate PS guru!!! Thanks for the link
  22. For DSLR, currently the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 Sigma 20mm f/1.8 Are the two popular wide angle zoom and fix lens, considered and tested by a lot of users to be very high quality and reasonably affordable. The zoom is even comparable or better than some fix lenses Go tropical... go get those lens
  23. bpribadi

    Pimeta pics

Cool! Very neat layout despite the over sized volume knob So you prefer to stack the BUF instead of using the resistor for each BUF. So you are burning in with OPA or AD? Which Op-Amp suite your taste? Adaptor powered?
  24. Cool! I agree with most of your point But I think we do need the automatic CCD cleaner. Yes!!! Stop the MP hype!!! That's just a marketing propaganda Sometime the camera also limit the resolution. To avoid moire, most DSLR have the built-in anti aliasing filter which is to reduce the resolution of the lens
