  1. You can download their datasheets and check out the difference. I found the LT1469CS8 and LT1469IS8 difference is their temperature tolerance. You can find out the other for yourself.
  2. Chill everyone. Let's remember lots of people from all walks of life read this forum, let's not confuse and confound people. And yes, I don't play games, too old for it. I rather not say the rules do say not to use abbreviations from SMS, IM etc. Oops, I said it. Sorry.
  3. Hi guys, I don't want to spoil your fun but can you use words that people can understand? For example, what is "imba"? The point of posting is to share with others, if you use words most cannot understand, then might as well use PM, right? I hope you take this as constructive criticism, ok? Thanks

    koss spark plug mod?

No ban lah, may be this...
  5. Thanks for the tip. Just the right timing, I need to buy more foam tips.
  6. Very nice. I especially like the bicycle.
  7. It seems the TREAD is as good as the STEPS, so why not use the TREAD instead? As far as I know, Amveco is not available here but there are other encapsulated transformers available from Farnell and RS Components, check if any of them fit into the STEPS pcb, if you still prefer to use STEPS.
  8. Blues, wow x 2. The above pic conveys the mood very well. I love Myanmar and the people too. Very polite and gentle. But there are spies everywhere and the people are really afraid of the authorities.
  9. Good job. Nice pics. Would like to add one warning though. Before desoldering the old cable, check which is hot and which is ground, for each side. Then solder the correct cable to the correct terminal. A bit of a problem if forget to check and then suddenly realise it when about to solder new cables. I know because it happened to me. Or maybe it happens only to forgetful old man....
  10. The new Sennheiser IE 8 has bass and tunable bass some more. Try it when you can.
  11. Ya, that's what keeping me from joining the MO for the faceplate..... so ex!
  12. peanutbutterjam - picture of the other side will show the back of their heads only lah. BTW - the others in the group I was sitting in could discern a lot more than I could when listening. But then my ears are old and deaf already from the years of abuse. darkkopi- thanks for your pics. I felt like I was the odd one out in the group pic. So old compared to the young ones there.
  13. Some of us in sgheadphones were invited for a preview of Sennheiser's new IE line of IEMs. Given the number of people and the number of phones available for testing, I think most people got about 5-10mins worth with each phones. I found my ears were really lousy compared to the other forumers present, so I am shy to share my views. But I think the IE7 and IE8 may be acceptable to some people. I find the IE8 had really smooth sound but a little too laid back. And a little too much bass, even with the tunable bass at minimum. I am starting this thread so that the other sgheadphone forumers can leave their impressions here. BTW - thanks Edwin for the invite. Here's a photo of those I sat with: Oh yeah, one of the forumers had a real cool collection of portable amps with him. Hmm, who wants to organise a meet?
  14. Your view sounds quite logical to me but I can also see it another way. If I use custom tips and I don't like the sound of the combo, I can still sell the IEM to find another which suits my taste better. With custom phones, it is a goner if I don't like the sound. But this is hypothetical to me at the moment, as I haven't decided if this is a good way to do.
  15. Would you like to share your reasons for your view? How will the customs headphones be better than custom tips?
  16. Has anyone tried those customs which you can fit an IEM to? Then at least if the fit is standard, we can change the IEM.
  17. Please note that there are "clone" ALPS pots out there. Koba is a honest shop, just ask to see if theirs is the real thing or a clone. Another place I know of is Wells Audio in Burlington Square. I think Larry's in basement People Park's Complex also carries this pot.
  18. Hi Morgan, I was asking you to see if you did misrepresent yourself. If I am sure you did mis-represent yourself, I won't post my personal opinion, as moderator I would have deleted this entire thread. I gave you a chance to explain why this is a guide. Unless you want to do otherwise, let's leave matters as they are, since you have said your intentions are clear and did not misrepresent the thread. I will take your word for it. Regards.
  19. Thanks Morgan. It's theory_87 who needs it. As a matter of fact, my office is just 5 mins from Farnell. But thanks for the kind gesture. heady.
  20. You may find it at Farnell. Have you tried searching their website?
  21. Morgan, I did visit your blog which seems to be more about selling LODs and not instructions on how to build DIY LODs. So it does seem like your thread is misrepresenting itself. But I am posting my opinion as a forum member. heady.
  22. I hate to say it but after so many posts, I still don't see a DIY guide to making LOD.Maybe samples of DIY LODs made by some posters. But no guide.
  23. Robert from LHS showed me the right angled plugs but I did not buy any as they are not cheap.
  24. Have you tried LHS in Sim Lim Tower?
