  1. *UPDATE* Sold to a nice gentleman. -------------- Please give this unwanted DAP a home.... Looks beautiful, handles beautifully, beautiful sound BUT the worst ever software to transfer songs there is. At least for this ah pek. Never got the hang of it, always need to check manual. Why can't just use Windows Explorer and drag and drop? Which explains why I bought it and then didn't use it much. Condition is 8/10, comes with box and everything else I can remember. I have added a nice protective pouch which is new. It's at least 2 years old and probably 3 years. S$100 $70 and it's yours. Or send me an offer lah. Pics :
  2. Purple DOM = dirty old man. Alamak, I thought this is universal. Maybe only for my ah pek generation.
  3. Vegetables. I can be the ah pek, just don't call me the D.O.M.
  4. **OT rant** I am really amazed that the price (S$1500) of a set of IEM can induce celebration.... Maybe I should about my sad condition of not being able to join in the celebration. **end rant**
  5. Brother, I can only say we wish you well but there isn't much hope when you have been sucked in so deep..... But your set up looks great and I am sure you are enjoying yourself.
  6. You are definitely Singaporean. I think the best quality and short IC will be custom made. And the best place in Singapore to get one will be LHS in Sim Lim Tower. If they are not cheap enough then sorry, have to make your own. Regards.
  7. I think if you are staying in Singapore, then you must go to either or both Stereo Electronics and Jaben to find out the prices. I have no idea about the prices as I bought my DT880 a while ago.
  8. If you are not using an amp, then the 80ohm version is better.
  9. I better clarify before I mislead someone. Two days as in listening in the office, ie 12-14 hours and not 48 hours.
  10. I have a Mini3 with the high performance opamp and another with the extended battery life opamps and I actually prefer the latter as it is more mellow. Sound stage wise, I am not discerning enough. And battery life is good. Two days listening before running out of juice.
  11. Aron is a great salesman, he inspires trust rather than using any high pressure techniques. Actually I was frightened by his trust initially. He left the demo headphones with me, told me to enjoy myself and disappeared for a while.
  12. Should still fit as the caps look smaller than the battery. If I am not wrong, the caps removed were Panasonics FCs which are already very very good caps for power supply, as these are. I would suggest that if there are any benefits from the mods, it will be from the smaller Wima caps beneath. But do note as stated in the headfi forum, this amp has been engineered precisely for the opamps and extending the leads to caps may cause instability and oscillations. Just my 2 cents.
  13. But isn't the MS-1 also open headphones? I like the AT ATH-M50 which is a closed headphone and is below $200.

    Clean power tweak

Great news cloud. Man, I wish I got time to do this. Got several projects in the queue.
  16. Well, have you live with DT880 before? I used to have a pair and now uses DT150 which is closed. I can tell you the DT880 sounds like an open cans with their sound quality but their isolation is almost as good as closed phones. I really like the DT880 and sold them only because my ears sweat very profusely and stains the earpads extremely fast. I would become poor fast changing the pads monthly.
  17. People's Park Centre 3rd level (Opposite Chinatown Point), near stairs in centre atrium.
  18. Not a product but a category of products. I am personally appalled by the cost of interconnects and the hype about them.
  19. Sorry bro, was joking only. No worries. I agree with your views.
  20. Don't lah, why rub it in? Already sad am poor and then you call me fool some more....
  21. When I first got a job, I splurged like crazy on my hifi set. Got a Lenco turntable, after a couple of months, upgrade to Rega and then to a Linn. Got a Sony amp, which became a Meridian pre/power amps and then upgraded the power amp to monoblocs Meridians. Upgraded the pre-amp to Musical Fidelity. About the only thing I didn't upgrade was the speakers but that was because I bought one which I liked from the begining. In the process, I threw away thousands of dollars. Now in retrospect, I think I was a fool (probably still is one but less so only ). Now I try to justify my purchases and keep them within my budget. Operative word is "try".
