  1. Hallo brother ical. No need to actually post if all you want is to bump your ad. See the option link on the upper right of page? Click on it and select "bump this topic". Thanks.
  2. **OT** Hi, If you find a more durable replacement pads for the DT150, please let me know, I have the same problem.

    ath-m50 mod?

Sorry out of my league. Scared of mods, I live with what I get when I buy things. Stuff I built can try to mod. Was away on a much needed break.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I have more than 4 CDPs including a portable one all at different price range. They all sound different and the best one I have is from Stereo. But even my best CDP sounds better with an external DAC. But you know, one man's meat is another man's poison. I normally listen to CDPs only for speakers. For headphones, I find CDPs too cumbersome. Anyway, you don't have to like what I like and vice versa. We all can be different. Peace.
  5. Every CDP also got DAC what. Cheap CDP got cheap DAC. So I don't understand your recommendation. Want to elaborate?
  6. The problem is the word audiophile in your post. Nothing that is audiophile will be cheap. For example, I have a Tivoli system as well and it is not audiophile. Even for background music it aggravates me. But my wife likes it and I will have to live with it. Perhaps a low cost set up maybe a T-amp with some cheaper but still good speakers eg. Usher or Tannoy. I have a DIY T-Amp type amp with Tannoy speakers and it is quite listenable. It's possible to source factory made T-Amps in Singapore but I don't know the cost. Good luck with your search.
  7. Rats! Most probably have to miss this. Got function on at about same time. I am so frustrated. Argh....
  8. I second this. If you shop around, can get this below $200. BUT why do you want to walk around oblivious to the world? Can be dangerous. Be careful.
  9. Well done Aron. Unfortunately I got no exotic stuff except the gamma1 and Monica DACs. Even my SOHA/JISBO is topless.
  10. I like biking too. But really lousy at fishing. Anyone want to organise a biking and headphone meet? **EDIT** Looks like Aron has just answered my wish for a meet.
  11. http://www.audioworkshop.com.hk/index_en.htm Scroll down and you will see the adaptors. About $3+ each. Minimum order is S$40. Bought the AW-OP_ada(SMD)B adaptor, for SMD -> DIP. Don't know if it is cheap compared to others. Comments welcome, I am learning too.
  12. Can buy this from online store in HK for much cheaper. I don't have the url on hand but will find it and post it ASAP.
  13. You have my attention now.....
  14. ninja, you need to also have stress relief right?
  15. Using solder paste also mean getting a solder paste mask. Don't forget that.
  16. After viewing the power rigs, I think not many will dare post theirs. I for one will blush to think of what I am using. A USB-Monica in a plastic cheapo case and a SOHA-JISBO in a re-used harddisk array casing with improvised front panel which only covers the lower one third.
  17. Sorry, forgot the price but certainly cheaper than a station. The temperature is adjustable with a screw driver but no display. And because it is temperature controlled, it doesn't go all black if left on. I never have problem with ESD in Singapore, our weather is too humid for static build-up. I don't work in aircon room, the fumes will get you. I have bought a cheap soldering station from Koba before but the control doesn't really work, it was either too hot or not hot enough, eventually junked it. You get what you pay for, I guess.
  18. ical - that table lamp really caught my eye. Looks real cool with the CDP and the Yamamoto. hellfire112 - your rig doesn't look humble to me.
  19. Goot agent is in basement of Sim Lim Tower. Very nice couple owns the shop. I recommend a temperature controlled iron, no need for station. Save the money for your other purchases. I use a 70W temperature control iron and it's fine, even if I forgot to turn off at night and left on for 24 hours.
  20. Thanks for your comments, jojo_b2. For the record, each mod has their own way of handling things. I normally would not delete the entire thread but delete all sale information and put in a reason for deleting it. But I also don't blame other mods for not explaining as it is very frustrating to keep having to encounter post from people who either never read the rules or more likely, ignore them. I hope you won't take things too personally and just get involve and you will soon get your 50 posts.
  21. You lucky people. I belong to the generation who have to do the financial assisting at this time of the year. Aiyah, broke man...
  22. Wishing all sgheadphones forumers and visitors and very Happy Chinese New Year and a prosperous and healthy new year too. Don't think about the "R" word the next few days. Enjoy the time of the year when the family and friends get together, a much too rare thing in a busy world today. Together, things won't look so bad.
