  1. Wah you quite optimistic hor. 28 people would be less than 10% of the population but think about it - unlike the american forums 90% of members live within a 30 click radius. University turorial rooms could be ideal as well but could pose transport problems. Hmm... may be have it at the Guild House at NUS. Now why didn't I think of that. I mean some of you must be members right? And they have medium size function rooms. Air-con, got beer, can smoke, need nice lounge chairs though. Carry cans in one hand and carry can in other staggering towards the next listening station. IDEAL. I maybe able to book a fucntion room in the Singapore Poly guildhouse. It should be able to hold 30++ people. Just let me know when will the next meet be held.
  2. Any alternatives besides the pads offered by Sennheiser? I have tried listen to my HD600 with out the pads and it sounds pretty good. However dust and hair may get inside.
  3. Any idea how the price is like?

    Hello All

My X-feed has only got about 300 hrs of run in, will continue with the run in when I get back. Not too sure what will the effects be when there is a break in run in. All I can say is the modded X-cans v2 with the X-feed made me sell my Sudgen. Unfortunately I could not get a good price on the Sudgen, thinking of other alternative right now. The probable is to carry out a mod on the Sudgen. http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread....ighlight=sudgen

    Hello All

Mat, you can check with Mike (aka Pinkflyod) and see if he can make you a special one. Anyway it is quite small. Best of all it is indestructible.

    Hello All

lengcm, I have found an economical way in connecting the X-feed to the system. 4 x male RCA/BNC female and 2 x male BNC/BNC male adapters. Total cost Ops too late Mackie, have already bought an extra pair of Chord Chours. Anyway would be nice to see how you do it using the male/male connectors

    X-can v3

Excellent choice Mackie, with a change of tubes and capacitors, you will be shocked at what the X-cans v2 can do. BTW, if you want, you can audition it when I audition the A3 Cd player

    Hello All

Whoa, just a week away and all the number of postings just shot up. Mat, check out this site regarding the x-feeds. It is made by one of SGheadphone member Pinkie. http://freespace.virgin.net/borders.break/x-feed.htm
  9. My experience with the equinox cable is an excellent one. The standard is simply light ages ahead of the stock cable. Unfortunately I have yet to own the Cardas cable otherwise I could be a A/B comparison. With the Equinox cable, the detail level is much better. In addition, it sort of smoothen out the brightness of my Sudgen headmaster. Although, lots of Sudgen owners in Head-fi would disagree with me but I do find the HD600 with Equinox does sounds a tad harsh with the HD600 stock cable. For the bass, it does becomes more defined and it adds a little more slam to it. IMHO, the Equinox cable ranks 2nd in term of improvement in terms of value for money. The best way to find out is to try to convince someone to loan you their cable in order for you to have an audition
  10. Just a test post, have not been using the internet that often as I am away on holidays, will post more when I get back. BTW, those who ordered the X-feeds will receive theirs as soon as I get back to SG.
  11. I am sure this site will be something big in time to come. It may be the regional headphone hub for the Asia Pacific.
  12. For SACDs, you may want to try the following: Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Mike Oldfiled, Tubular Bells
  13. Just found this in this month's What's Hifi, hope this is useful in aiding you make you your decision "It's clear that Philip shas pu lots of effort into the quanlity of CD plaback on the 973SA, as well as its SACD performance. The result is that satandard discs are reproduced with pleasing dynamics and amazing resolution. Sure a dedicated CD player sounds better still, but the Philips is good, switch to SACD and things get even better: there's ooldes of snap, drive and depth to high-resolution recordings, making the most of the superior sound."
  14. I have got no idea at all saw this at head-if and only know it is from China. It can be used as as headphone amp and as a integrated amp. These are the technical information. Checkout this thread form head-fi : http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread....&threadid=33013
  15. Anyone seen or auditioned this amp before?
  16. It would be great if you could post a review of the META42 after the burn in. Want to build a META42 as well
  17. OMG you must be kidding, that song pisses the sh*t out of me man...
  18. Well it depends on how much improvements it give over the HD600. Last but not least the price. Rameish, any ideas or comments on the probable improvements ?
  19. Does it generate that much heat?
  20. Can't remember the name but it is a techno song and this woman singing Ay ya yi ya you my little butterfly.... Anyone can remember the name?
  21. Can anyone point out where the op amp is?
  22. lengcm, Alpha Audio is the dealer of MF products. U can listen to the A3.2CD with a fresh screen and front panel design. To get a proper audition, I only know one place...mine! Since your source is a NAD, I recommend a cdp in the 1-2K range unless U wish to up the ante to 2-3K as U feel rich. Favs in the former are Marantz CD17MkIII (Oak has this with pleasure), Exposure 2010, Rega 2000, Opera 2.2 (tubes), Heart 6000 (modified Marantz CD6000 with tubes but overpriced in S'pore) and perhaps Audiomeca Obsession. It all depends on your music preference and the kinda characteristics U favour in them. Looking forward to my crossfeed matey. Sure thing I will deliver the X-feed to your place and I'll bring my Sudgen along for audition if you dun mind. Can play with your cat as well
  23. Very nice and simple design. This might be the source I am looking for. I am not too sure if I should jump into SACD. Currently my rig is quite balanced after I've changed my HD600 stock cable. That Equinox really did some wonders. Mackie, what are your recommendations regarding SACD ?
