Interesting how people thinks that it is ugly base on photos of it at an awkward angle and a fugly-bluish-green background. Contact Stereo Electronics about availability?
  2. Despite my liking for Grados and having many Grados in my inventory, I will advise against buying 2 Grados for different kinds of music because they have similar tonal balances. Unless you like to collect (or hoard), that's a different matter. If I were you, I would just go for the best Grado I can afford (they are actually very capable phones) and move on with my life. Buying multiple cans that sounds similar with the intention of getting different tonal balance isn't a good idea. If you have to own multiple cans for different music (which I think is an overkill, at least for me, since during the time I own multiple phones with different signatures, I ended up with the SR325i 99% of the time) go buy cans with opposite sound signatures.
  3. I think he meant sound imaging or commonly mistakenly called soundstage. Headroom: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headroom Headroom is also a company that sells headphones... Headroom is also an organisation that assist in mental health issues for youths
  4. I don't need the accessories (1/8" - 1/4" adapter etc.) but I need the foam, the paper works to be intact. The integrity of the box is also important. I am willing to pay up to $10 for one. PM me. I forgot to add, box of any model will do (YES! even SR60 will do!) Thanks!

  6. There have been some interest in these pads and there were request for picture, the picture are taken by me and the pads shown are my prototype pads. Shots of actual pads on the SR325 (which I thought was an excellent match for the MD-414), On the left ear cup the pads are in the normal 414 configuration (more comfortable, but more boomy sonics), on the right cup, they are in reverse 414 configuration (slightly less comfortable (slightly more pressure on head), sound between bowl and a normal quarter modded 414). This is the comparison between the un-dyed HD414, MD-414, OEM Grado Bowls, This is not the most perfect shot I have (the blurriness and all) but this is the most honest shot I can get for the pads since my other shots either exaggerates the colour difference (with respect to the OEM bowls) or makes MD-414 looks deceptively similar in colour to the OEM bowls. (and ermm I got my foot into the picture as well LOLS ) Product shot
  7. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showpost.ph...38&postcount=34 It looks like the one shown in the link (those are not my picture) but the pads is close to almost black (abit dark greenish grey). The MD-414 is designed to fit reverse on Grado Headphones (unlike most quarter modded Hd414 pads. It's comfortable without sacrificing the sonics (headstage is slightly narrower than bowl pads but wider than ordinary modded HD414 pads, stronger bass than bowls but less muddy than comfy pads). This is only an interest check and the pads are going for $18 /pair. PM me if interested thanks! UPDATES: Firstly I currently have 1 complete pair done up but I am offering (it can be used in both reversed and normal 414 config). Secondly, I have a review pair made in the reversed 414 config (they have some obvious flaws in their cutting) and they are completely usable san the lousy aesthetics. I've also made some design modifications concerning the pads, as I have mentioned above, the reversed 414 gave me a bit of tightness on the head by exerting on a pressure point, I've remedied the problem and they no longer have a pressure point on my head. Thirdly, there is a slight price drop, but keep in mind that behind every successful pads, there are always a more failed proto-types. Finally I just hope people who buys them will enjoy them. By the way, concerning the review pair of the reverse 414, I will part with them for ONLY $8 (they are aesthetically flawed but when you put on the pads, you won't be able to see those "dog-bites" marks. They sound fabulous though. But there is a small condition though ... PM me for more info!
  8. That_dude: It's probably caused by the high sensitivity of the super fi. and the not so clean source, I experienced this with my now dead E2c (RIP) which are extremely sensitive.

    hd 25-1

There's actually no such thing as MS2i, it's just that people use it to differentiate between the new MS2 (with the mushroom shape cup) from the old design. However the new improved replacement model of SR325 is officially called SR325i by Grado labs

General geeking, geeking at CD shops, gaming (not the online kind) I suck at it, but I still like it, Occupation: Chemical Engineering Student in a polytechnic.
  16. saw him at the lib with a beanie (I think)...
  17. It's not the dorky part that's disturbing, but carrying big headphones basically kills the meaning of portability...
  18. My holidays are starting soon so I am currently looking for a holiday job to earn some pocket money, if anyone wants to hire a part time assistant, let me know... Mod: I hope this thread is okay...
  19. The Beyers are NOT portable at all, I saw someone wearing the DT880 (or was it the 770, can't see well from a far) portably in my school library and it was huge. If you don't mind looking dorky, the size should make toting it around a pain in the rear. The PX200s are closed (i.e. isolates meaningfully), portable and foldable, besides they are much cheaper than the SR80, there's really no competition which one I'll bring in a portable situation. Besides, after trying the SR60 on the go, I think I am losing too much sound to the noise.
