  1. The definitive 80's song - 99 Red Balloons.
  2. Damn, what a buzzkill. I'd suggest just going back to Apple and asking for a replacement on the spot. There's no telling how long itll take through AppleCare.
  3. Would everyone please stop posting unsubstantiated claims. All Shure earphones come with a WORLDWIDE warranty. My E5's were bought from earphonesolutions. They've only failed on my once but I was able to get it repaired in HONG KONG. ANY AUTHORIZED SHURE SERVICE CENTER WILL REPAIR YOUR EARPHONE FREE OF CHARGE AS LONG AS IT IS WITHIN WARRANTY AND THE FAILURE ISN'T CAUSED BY THE USER. Be it in Kathmandu or Timbuktu, they will repair it.
  4. I might upgrade if I have the UM2 but I have the E500 along with UM56 customs. It's just not an upgrade that's worth the cost seeing as I've already spent well over US$500 on it already.
  5. Honestly, it takes a damn lot of damage to kill a pair of Shures. As long as they haven't been set on fire or anything, Shure would likely replace it. Hell, my old pair of E5s survived being dragged outside a car door at 60km/h.
  6. Why not get a previous generation iPod Nano or Creative DAP? Market value of the nanos have hit rock bottom while Creative seems to be having a daily fire sale.
  7. 200? Pricing for the E3 in China has fallen to about that level. But I'd still go for the UM1 over it.
  8. Ehhh, I'm tempted to get the ES2 just because of the custom-ness but I highly doubt there would be any improvement...
  9. Hmm, I guess it all started when I bought my first pair of Senn MX500 buds when my iBuds broke. I thought they were good and I starting looking for a better pair. Soon, I bought a PMX60(not that great) and then a PX100. I wanted something bigger next so I got a HD212. Then I started getting into IEMs with the ER-6 being my first one. I soon upgraded to the E3C as I found they can be found very cheaply in China. I had a HD600 for a while but I sold it as I didn't use it much. I took the money and bought the amazing E5. When the E500 was released, I knew I wanted to have it...And now I have that. All in all, a very expensive journey...
  10. Everyone please stop spreading nonsense. ALL SHURE EARPHONES COME WITH A TWO YEAR INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY. http://shure.com/PersonalAudio/CustomerSup...ranty/index.htm
  11. Hmm, the Sensaphonic molds for the E500 looks interesting to me. BTW, do they do other colors or only that awful pink?
  12. $280 for an AT earbud?!?! These better be damn good.
  13. Hmmm... I wonder if I can use it as a money clip
  14. 3 Months? Nonsense. All Shure earphones from the E2 all the way up to the E500 carry a 2 year international warranty.
  15. If he/she was stupid enough to log in from home/work, the authorities would have no problem tracking the person down.
  16. Just print that in small white font on a black polo. It'd be perfect.
  17. They will accept it as long as you have a receipt.
  18. No, the Tri-Flanges will not fit the E2C. IIRC, the E2C can only use foamies, hard flex and soft flex tips.
  19. IIRC, the ES1s have a very sterile sound as they are meant to be used as monitors. Personally, I would go with the UM2/UM56 or step up to the ES2.
  20. You should look into Access USA. They're a pretty good mail forwarding services that I've been using for years. The prices are about the same as vPost but they can have it sent one business day after they receive it. You can also specify when you want it sent in case you're shipping more from more than one source. All in all, a much better service than vPost. They also really don't care what you ship as long as it goes with federal guidelines...
  21. I think ER got it mostly right by using braided cables.
  22. I don't see why UE has such a big problem with microphonics on its cables... Maybe its because of their experience but Shure seems to get it right with every earphone.
  23. Most Shures are worn the same way as Westones but to me, the E2/E5/E500(which are bigger) are more comfortable than then E3/4s which are smaller.
  24. Well, cans usually means all headphones in general... The fact that you have to play at higher bitrates for more expensive IEMs is not true. There are high-end IEMs which will do fine with a less than fantastic source such as the E5 which I used to own and the E500 which i own now. Some IEMs can be more sensitive than other though, particulaly Etymotic's ER-4 and ER-6 along with Altec Lansing's IEMs.
