Heady, i am still considering whether to buy the bookshelves or not. although at an entry level i think it'll set me back by $400. I am thinking of the Wharfedale diamond series. got comments on this? so right now maybe get a power amp working first before commiting on the speakers. I am fine with the amp5 and am grateful if heady you can do the ordering. maybe you can double confirm with ckng again.

heady, after consulting with yeo, i think the charlize does not have enough power to drive the bookshelves that i can planning to get. so i think i will go for the amp5 instead of charlize. at least it is through hole. :-) then when u getting the charlize? then ckng, you want to get the amp5 together?

ok, if you sponsor me I am more than willing to join in the fun of trying various amps... anyway, I don't mind trying the Charlize since it really saves me the trouble of doing everything from scratch. Building everything from scratch is fun but don't have the time these days, the soha was my last project.... maybe can also buy the toroids from MY and ship over together? ya, maybe we should discuss more. i think amp1 is similar to amp5, just that some parts is smt. ya, amp5 seems to have more power output. but usually how much power do speakers need? regarding the noise part i am not too sure though how smt reduces noise. due to smaller parts??

heady, I am ok with the price. I think ckng might also be interested in the amp5 but he has concerns on finding the appropriate toroidial transformer. On the other hand, the Charlize from diyparadise looks promising also.. And the good thing is don't need to solder..lol so how? Charlize?? or amp5?
