  1. all should be within your budget i like the mids of UM1 and the bass is sufficient for the pop rock i listen to but some may find the bass lacking (thus, they go for UM2 ) comfort is a big factor for me and UM1 wins hands down among the 3... advise for u to audition it.. everyones ears are different stereo should have em all
  2. px100 would be a better choice for the kind of music u mentioned the highs n mids are sweet, bass not overwhelming and overall a decently balanced pair of cans but again, comfort wise px100 wins hands down btw the connector for my k26p near the 1/8" plug came off a little, so the wiring is slightly revealed and i didnt use it much, gosh.. even though the k26p is much better in the bass department but given a 2nd chance, i would take px100 anytime... still, it's best u pop by stereo to audition it for yourself before deciding Cheers, Zhong
  3. u may wish to consider the comfort factor i have a k26p and it isn't exactly the most comfortable cans i've had takes some getting used to or possible you might not ever find it comfortable px100's band is definitely more comfortable in comparison but again, everyone's head profile is different
  4. yes.. i've expressed the same disappointment with creative products in a previous thread, in particular zen micro after 3 trips down to IBP to get it replaced my warranty is finally over thus, i opened up the player to my horrors when i opened this supposedly brand new/refurbished unit, i realised the vital contact points which should be soldered, in its place, are two chunks of glue reinforcements! Yes! GLUE! no wonder the headphone jacks get loose so easily after a little bit of soldering to strengthen the contact points, my zen is up and running i opened my brother's zen micro too and luckily, the contact points are properly reinforced a big question mark regarding their technical support in any ways it doesnt matter to me whether creative is earning big bucks from the apple lawsuit i've chosen to change sides, and purchase a sony DAP (despite the lousy software), cos i've got no idea when zen will die on me (again)

    Zen Neeon 2

i've had bad experiences with creative products and i believe many creative owners will agree especially their line of mp3 players i've owned a zen micro for a year or so within 1 year, i've had it replaced 3 times (my friend, 5 times!) due to headphone jack/switch problems after my warranty has expired (and i've given up on creative ) i opened up the zen micro to fix the headphones jack, with the aid of an online DIY (courtesy of a disgruntled zen micro owner) the problem with the headphone jack is due to weak soldering can literally see the 4 point metal contacts had little solder, which resulted in jack loose and thus, the crackling sound, under the average usage of any DAP users when i opened the player, i was shocked to find that the metal contacts which were supposed to be soldered has 2 chunks of glue instead to hold them in place and it's the rubbery kind no wonder the crackling loose jack i removed the glue with the heat gun and did the soldering myself and now it's good to go terribly disappointed with creative's QC and repair support
  6. i will be interested if have more bass but wouldnt that transform it to um2? haha

    WTB: UM2

as above.. pm me item condition/package and yr offer.. thanks!!
  8. i just bought a um1 from SE and aron metioned that comply tips last around 3 to 4 weeks i bought an extra grey soft flex sleeve it's easy to put on but when used for prolonged periods... ears might get a little sore as for the comply tips, it really feels comfortable just wanna ask all comply tips users how long do your tips last and will it actually "can't expand well" after long usage? how do you guys maintain it? (other than keeping your ears clean )
  9. i own a k12p which is basically similar to k14p, except that k14p has a volume control k12p claims to have good bass but it's bass is kinda like more punch and plastic sounding unlike 888, which i also have, which has warmer and more even bass comfort wise k12p or k14p i would say it isnt exactly that comfortable compared to 888 or mx500 you will definitely need a pair of foamies for comfort for your budget and application wise i will recommend mx500 although it wouldnt be an ideal choice if you want isolation, as it's an open can it's also comfortable for long usage and the cable seems reasonably tought for balanced overall sound, 888 will be the choice but it also doesnt provide isolation, as it's also an open can it's comfortable too but the downside would be the cable which looks rather fragile
  10. i have the K26P which is actually the black version of it (minus the volume control) it's really BASS heavy really good for rock i feel that some of the trebles and mids are rolled off but overall i would say it's still a pretty "ok" pair of cans personaly the isolation is good enough, around 70% good enough when i sit at the last row of bus (where the engine is) or in MRT one downside for myself though it's that the band needs some getting used to and ears will feel a little hot after prolonged use
  11. hi.. i m looking for a budget amp too.. please pm me if you've got any to let go/recommend.. thanks!
  12. wow.. nice! so what's the price tag? (pm me if inconvenient thanks!) any reviews in comparison to its predecessors 24 and 26?
  13. diaoz... btw are u the guy at causeway point that electronic shop? the guy in specs? if u are, i think you have given me quite abit of insights into headphones before quite a few months back... i tried the k24p too... but in the end got k12p and mdr888 seriously bro, any recommendations of such smaller cans anot? (px100?) btw how different is k24 vs k26 other than the closed and semi open thing? sound? comfort? *screams: reviews! reviews! reviews!*
  14. lol.. yea i m looking for one that is not too bulky especially cos i often doze off on the bus leaning on the window pane... thus looking for portable model (something along px100 size)
